I had a friends who lived in Killington VT in the winter just to ski . My first time on skis, they took me right to the top of the mountain said don't worry, we know you can do this. Well, my first attempt going thru moguls when I got to the other side . Of course, people were just standing around gawking at those bouncing and falling down . So I kinda turned to avoid them . Almost instantly I realized my mistake. I was on the expert slope under the gondola. I probably slid 50 feet down the mountain and was lying there trying to regroup my thoughts One of my friends that lived there realized what must have happened as I didn't catch up, so he cut thru the woods and came out onto the expert slope below me . All I can remember is him yelling back at me, "Come on, man, there is only one way down." The next day, it was snowing, and only the guys went. back and when we got off the gondola ride, it was a slight uphill walk to the top of the intermediate trail . But my friends decided we could take a shortcut on this expert slope and get ahead of everyone else where it crisscrossed trails . Laughing, they said come on after yesterday this will be easy. Yes , my very 1st weekend skiing I crossed back and forth between the intermediate and expert slopes twice . All I really remember about it is if I go down one more time, I don't think I have the energy to get back up, and it is a good thing those were rented poles.

@@ColoradoCole That was 50+ years ago. Was fit enough to hold my own in any sport is one reason they took me right to the top. Went a few more times , now I'm just old and disabled and retired had my share of fun when I was young. Live it now through the grandchildren . Never snowboarded. However we have tobboganed some trails that looked like that tree run when we were kids . Got snowed in at Christmas at my brothers in MO. 99/2000, and they have a steep drop off behind a pond . My nephew , my youngens even my wife went out and low and behold my brother pulled the old toboggan out. And down they went, watch out for those trees. Recently looked at some pictures of it. they sure had fun. I live on the fla/ga line past 40 years, no snow this far south. Anyone that never experiences coming down a mountain covered in snow has missed something special in life. Just watching this video brings out a special feeling in me.

@@ColoradoCole I love both of those places. As much as I like Telluride, Crested Butte is my favorite. There is just something about that town. I live above 8,000ft. The closest place to me is Wolf Creek Ski.
