I cringe when you are sturing with that metal stir shovel, dosent it scratch your beautiful pot? I've seen others that use a huge wooden stirrer for the job?

Awesome job Jimmy!!! I've been looking for a way to make my own smasher,can't thank you enough! I've got one question for you though...what size (dimensions) is the puck you used, and where did you get it? Thanks brother. 👍

I bought the piece of stainless steel precut on eBay as a” drop “ I forget the size maybe 2-1/2” bit can’t find it anymore I tried to buy another one and couldn’t find it but I would measure your cup you plan to use and just go a little smaller maybe 1/2” or so as for the thickness mine maybe 1-1/4” or so thick but that is a little bit over kill but you might want at least 3/4” thick

@Jimmy-boots Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. I'll just do some web surfing for the puck I guess. Thanks for the information and suggestions on the dimensions though, you've been a great help. Hope you have a happy, healthy and blessed New Year my friend.

The burner sits a few degrees niches below the pot and the burner has a rubber gas hose and regulator on it to hook up to a propane tank like a propane grill

Why does a kettle corn pot have to be round and concave at the bottom???? Why can’t you use a cut down 55 gallon stainless steel drum ??? I don’t know that is why I’m asking And the table with 1500 hole in it to rake out hulls and kernels 2,000.00 dollars??? Why can’t you use a wire mess as you did or a stainless steel wire mess they do make them I’m a cheap DYI kinda guy
@Jimmy-boots
@Jimmy-boots Жыл бұрын
I have thought about using a turkey fryer to make it as well which has the flat bottom I’m sure it will work as long as you are able to keep stirring all the kernels and they don’t bunch up in the corner of the side As for the sifting table I agree they are a lot of money and I plan to do a video of building mine I have already started planning it out and I ordered a sheet of perforated metal I thought about using the hardware cloth but I was afraid it was going to be like a really aggressive cheese grater and tear up a-lot of the finished popcorn Hope you subscribe to make sure you see the sifting table build
