I have shot moose with both rounds, and I can verify that the 220 gr will spin a moose around. I have shot 2 big bulls with the 220's, and both times the moose was spun around. I have shot bulls and cows with 180 gr and usually they do a small loop running back to the spot they were shot to try and figure out what hit them, offering up a second shot.

Can I use a heat gun instead? And does it perform any better (or worse) in a fluid bed?
@hardwiretackle Жыл бұрын
Heat guns will work but it will take a lot longer than using a torch. You can use a fluid bed but it needs to have enough PSI to float the STARDUST powder. We use an air compressor in our fluid bed. We have a fluidiser on our site that you can take a look at.

What torch do you recommend? Can you use a heat gun also? Thanks
@hardwiretackle Жыл бұрын
Any torch really. We prefer culinary butane torches (used in kitchens) as they are larger than your standard electronic butane torch (for heat tubing) and are a bit easier to handle than a plumbers torch.

What do you use to clean up the eye on your jigs.? Just curious
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
That was going to be my question as well. I just ordered some. I think I’m going to just stick a toothpick in there before hitting the cool water.
@hardwiretackle Жыл бұрын
You can clean the eyes after dipping it prior to the final heating or after prior to cooling the jig off. We typically use welding wire or tooth picks. You can also use silicon heat resistant tubing to protect the eye from getting powder in them.
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
@@hardwiretackle yes after playing around with it a bit I find that it’s actually pretty easy to keep the paint off the eyelids if you are gentle while dipping. On the occasion that I do get it on the eyelet, the heat gun melts it off or it is easy to pick out with a hunk of wire or toothpick. I am really loving this stuff and I gave it a test with a hammer and it holds up!

Cetuspa “Halibut Eat Octopus” in his KZfaq video seems to be a great aim and said he uses an “East Coast Tuna Harpoon w/whale tail. Those fish didn’t kick after getting stuck and bleed 🩸 out. Awesome demonstration of harpooning halibut! Glad I found your channel. Learning and planning my next trip back to Alaska.
