Thanks mate saved me bunch of money . I was just about to buy ko2.

Not going to defend KO2s but imo 40+ psi is too high for these tyres. Prado & Hilux aren't heavy enough. I'll put 40/42 in the Hilux when loaded for a trip with lots of black top to get better economy but around town they'll be like ice skates. 36 psi is perfect. I'm looking to get a full set of something in the next few weeks and not sure what to get at the moment. Only had KO2s and agree they're over priced but then I've done 50+k km with several remote desert + high country trips and only one puncture so ...

They have never had a good reputation. They get worse as they get older the Tyers hardens.

They get slippery as hell on wet tarmac as they age and the rubber compound hardens. And as they last for ever, they usely DO age..
@cats4targets13 сағат бұрын
Of course some AT tyres perform better than others, but as a rule all AT tyres perform poorly on wet tar, simply because of the rubber compound used in construction of all AT tyres. If you are concerned about wet tar performance then HT tyres are superior every time
@user-yt7go3ki9h13 сағат бұрын
anthony like all tires they have there limitations. on a vehicle like a dual cab hilux there isn't enough weight empty to push the tire into the ground, and tread depth isn't the issue, the problem becomes evident when the compound hardens and there in itself is a problem because all terrains come with hard compounds. the other brands you mention are either worse or the same but the bfg's are the best of a bad bunch. if you drive highway buy highway tires and you will have a better chance.

Well, we've finally had rain, quite a lot in fact, in Perth this week! This has provided the opportunity to test my new Toyo AT3s (LT265/70 - 17) in the wet. And I have to say I'm very happy! they have not slipped one bit - even this afternoon when briskly accelerating while turning right at traffic lights with a painted (slippery) cross hatching. I previously had the AT2s, and they too were very good in the wet. Before buying the AT3s I also considered the Falken Wildpeak AT3s (they look great) BUT based on my research (I used USA data) they are each 19% or 3.4kg heavier in this size. So based on the additional weight (unsprung while also going up a size) and the terrific performance of my previous AT2s, I decided to stay with Toyo! Also, worth noting, as Prados are constant 4WD the propensity to slip and slide is greatly reduced compared to many other 4WD vehicles. Oh, and I generally run them at 40 psi on road.

I have left several comments on your channel about these K02's in the last year - Yes, they are dangerous on wet bitumen, they tried to kill me many times. I took mine off after 10k.

I have a '21 Kakadu with the 19 inch rims. I bought a set of 17 inch rims and fitted 265/65/17 KO2's and swap when I go off road. KO'2s are king offroad, but because I regularly swap between the two sets I can feel a definite difference between them. More fuel, harsher ride and noisier and definately do not handle as well in the wet. But I sure as hell would not go offroad with the stock 19's either. Horses for courses.

I have the KO2 from Thailand too and they have really good grip on dry roads but yeah in the first rain after weeks they are unbelievable bad and even bad on constant wet black roads. In the tiretestresults they have no good ratings on wet street conditions. I look for better one's for the next time and at this moment I drive them not often in the rain.

My KO2’s are not that old and they do let go in the wet. Would not want to do any emergency braking in the wet. Have tried when safe and they lock up.

KO are very dangerous tires, only for offroad. Go for Yokohama Geolander

Um so they are 4wd tires if you want fires that grip In The wet don't get aggressive all terrains I've had bfg maxis mickey Thom's Goodyear and dunlops can make them all slide or spin up in the wet you don't buy them for that you buy them for the tracks what works on the tracks doesn't work on wet bitumen you can't ever have it all same with longevity pick one

Why can’t you buy genuine from Toyota?
@Fourby4DieselКүн бұрын
You can if they have stock available if everybody does, they won’t have stock available. Most people don’t because it’s too expensive. Why would you pay more? all the other components most people don’t even know what they are. It will cost more altogether than my kit. there will be no customer service when things go pear-shaped, you don’t get to join the VIP group if you buy them from Toyota they also sell remanufactured do you know which ones which do they know which ones are which the real question is why don’t you watch all the videos thank you .

Hi Anthony. When I was doing my apprenticeship in the early seventies, my trainer, an old pommie bloke, used Phenol and water in a a 50/50 ratio to clean carbies by boiling them in a pot for 1/2 hour or so, and they came out like brand new. I was wondering if this would work on alloy intake manifolds, although Phenol is a bit Carcinogenic.

I actually done complete clean ports and intake a few weeks ago. I didn't do a good enogh job on ports, and lost compession on 3 cyliners, so i had to redo it. Some of the crud was really hard to remove from the valves. So my advice is clean it really good or don't clean it at all. Crud can get stuck betwen valves and seats. In the end I managed to clean ports, valves and seats without removing the head.
@veikkovahasoyrinki3200Күн бұрын
It doesnt bend the valves immediately if the valve gets stuck open a little bit from crud? What method did you use to clean?

Poor installation. There is a tolerance spec that needs to be followed. It seems the centre pin does not have enough spacing.

That was fascinating! And in line with Alex's earlier question, while we know we missed out on the last of the best (the 1KD), more comparative comments on the 1GD's similarities and differences would be very interesting for us 1GD owners. Thanks you for another highly informative video!

So my take-away is: Injectors are a bit like a frog in a pot, you don't realise how much things are changing. Then, you have a new set installed, and, all of a sudden, the world is a better place! (Er, but not so much for the frog with the last bit.)
