The bearings don't run in grease, they are lubed by oil bath using the rear end fluid. They should be pre-lubed with rear end fluid. And there is a specific procedure for setting the nut torque. This isn't it. They should have been torqued to 55ft-lbs, then backed off 7 clicks for new bearings, 5 clicks for used bearings.

Insta-subscriber here. The quality of this video is top notch. You labeling and differentiating the bolts by location and size made this job so much easier. I did the temp-fix by soldering the broken contact on the front brake solenoid of the TCM, with some copper wire in there for extra strength, and my neighbor's Nissan Titan is back on the road, no parts required. Thank you for taking the time to make this video and to include all this valuable data. Pan torque spec is 72 in-lbs. I didn't torque anything else, just snugged it up nicely. Do you still have it, or did it crap out. 3rd) I'm finding different variations of the part number you used, is there any other part identification? I'm finding RE5R05A to be the part you have. Lastly) were there no gaskets or seals for this job? Thank you for this awesome video.
@GrimRepair23 күн бұрын
@izzyp5713 1st, thanks. 2nd, still have the truck, it's holding up. 3rd, re5r05a is the type of transmission not the part number of the tcm, make sure the tcm you are getting is compatible with the re5r05a that is in your car. Lastly, the transmission pan has a gasket, it stuck to the pan in this video. I don't remember there being any others.

@GrimRepair23 күн бұрын
@izzyp5713 No leaks. Before I filmed this video, I was inside the transmission a week prior because i opened up the tcm and attempted to solder one of the rods back together , then you have to glue it back together to do that repair. ( It didn't last very long. I think fluid had gotten inside the tcm, So my pan gasket was fairly new. Yours may not be in as good of condition. A new gasket come s with the transmission filter, so just replace it. yes they can just fail, also check for coolant contamination.

@izzyp5713 I used the old valve. Body and replaced the tcm. The part number should be in the video. There are also links in the description. You may need to call them. Not all parts are listed on the website. Everything I did is in the video, some of the solinoids will probably break when you pull them out, you may want to order a set a head of time so it can all go back together the same day. I would search for all parts entering in your year make and model, I'm sure there are different versions of the re5ro5a depending on 4x4 4x2 car or truck different years.
