What are the dimensions how long are how wide

mine are roughly 4" wide and 8" long, with the taper starting 2" in and running 6" at 25-30 degrees

Thank you for demonstrating a froe and articulating its use. I think from what I've learned so far in preparation for riving my own wood is that with the narrow log it would be time to take it over to what they call a riving brake, which come in numerous forms just to hold onto the piece while you split it. Cheers.

My grandfather made many bows he told me to never use a knotted piece so you saved yourself some trouble. Hope this helps
