Too sentimental, too much gilding the lily. Rachmaninoff always benefits by strong metrics with only subtle rubato and inflection. (Listen to SR himself play it.) Delays and late notes for expressive purposes is tempting but must be avoided. It's ALREADY intensely romantic music. The pianist and conductor doesn't need to pile it on. This is the first time I've heard Kantarow do this. Hopefully he won't go there and leave that sort of playing to the Lang Langs of this world.

"Pace non trovo" sono i versi del Petrarca che ispirano Liszt per questa meditazione sull'amore che non dà pace benché la si persegua. Kantorow ha interiorizzato questo spirito di tormento interiore esprimendolo con una musicalità toccante, espressiva e coinvolgente che rivelano una grande maturità e un' anima complessa ma profonda.

Bella emozione ascoltare i Kantorow, padre e figlio, in questo eclettico Concerto di Saint-Saëns che riscosse le lodi di Liszt! Sono due musicisti che si meritano le lodi di tutti coloro che amano la grande musica. Una perfetta collaborazione tra il solista, il direttore e l' orchestra.

2:15 auch, aún así excelente interpretación y performance. Dejado de lado al pianista, que publico tan eximio, educado y gozoso, así debe ser el final de una pieza de este calibre, un silencio hermoso, cautivador, sincero y reconfortante para el alma. Es un momento único para terminar de digerir tan excelsa obra y culminar por fin con tan pletóricos aplausos la maravillosa obra que trasciende tantos sentimientos.

Un capolavoro della maturità di Brahms interpretato con una personalità rigorosa, matura e brillante. Kantorow ce lo propone in modo stupefacente. È un artista che sa "parlare" all' ascoltatore comunicandogli la profondità di questa musica.
