Federer at 29 was untouchable! Him and his 2 nemesis destroyed a whole generation of young talents who are now in the 29s.

I don’t understand why people think the serve and volley thing from the 90’s early 2000’s is fun to watch… so boring. So much better today where in Wimbledon we see longer rallies and more variety in points and shot making

Ubeleavable how strong and genius Pete was. It was one of the greatest matches, I have ever seen. The one hand backhand is the most beautiful hit in tennis

Two tennis legends near the moment where one started to take over the other... Such talent on both sides. Roger is just so well rounded already. Always liked Sampras but Federer took it to a whole other level. Incredible rythm, cohesion, regularity, a true mental of steel with wonderful game intelligence and incredible physique.

I was a huge fan of both over the years. For Federer to beat Sampras at 19 years old is very impressive. What a great game that was played right out to the end.

Watching this in ‘24 for the first time since 2001, you can see how frustrated Sampras is from the first set on. He’s hitting smashes right at Federer to “bully” him, he’s missing easy volleys. He’s trying for too much on his backhand vs working the rally to get a forehand. Nothing fails like success. He and his coach underestimated the young 🇨🇭 and paid the price.

What an amazing game. Two of the greatest grass court players of all time. The most impressive thing for me is that Sampras was at his peak at this time whereas Federer was just a teenage kid. I think that speaks for itself.

I remember this match. Thiem played the match of his career and still lost. He was hitting winners from everywhere on the court. But Nadal as usual played his best during the most important points. Thats what makes a true champion. It was heartbreaking.

I remember this one as if it was yesterday, Sampras was shocked, he could not belive this kid was able to do what he did, and for Federer that has been monumental win against Alltime great and a hero of his.
