Kane should've called a timeout after giving up the first point. That would've been hilarious.

I don't know how hard it is to be a player in this match as I have played with full glass back and one side wall but it sure is a great view as a spectator.

Unfortunately, this is exactly why Racquetball never took off the way it should have. It’s virtually impossible to find the ball for the TV viewer. The angles are never right to capture the ball’s movement, especially on the 3 wall glass court. I played it for over 40 years but now play pickleball which is obviously slower in some regards but move viewer friendly. Btw, I just watched an old match with Sudsy and Ruben on a back glass wall court and it was much easier to follow.

Pickleball is deadly boring to watch. This match could have been filmed better. The IRT games my eye can follow the ball and what's happening, and I can enjoy watching full matches. I just think they chose an unfortunate angle and jostled the camera too much, unfortunately a few point of this and I'm seeing so little of the game I just have to move on to a better option.

Maybe #HoustonFundraiser should stick to pickleball 😂

It occurs to me that racquetball's biggest problem is clear when the GOAT is playing and the seats are empty. I sure miss the 80s.
@indanekwaffles70744 ай бұрын
While this match was less than an hour away watching the match's live stream worked well. Likewise your sentiment about 80s it was a glorious time in racquetball pros to novice.

Here's an example where modern materials and improved manufacturing have killed a sport--most of these "rallies" were two hits! Compare this to tennis, squash or badminton in which the players are jockeying for position, and the rallies (especially in squash) can be truly gut-busting. In tennis, they have slowed down the game by making the balls thicker and adding more friction to the court's surface. Perhaps some measures like this need to be explored for racketball?
@justinsheely72035 ай бұрын
that's a bold assertion. This match is greatly imbalanced since Kane is one of the most dominant players in this game.
@jdoza51845 ай бұрын
There are several past and current factors as to why this sport has declined, at least in the USA, a few major ones are poor marketing and poor production of major tournament events as well as a huge interest in paddle and pickle ball but in reference to this match, Kane is at the world class level and his opponent definitely is not. No matter what weight,speed of the ball or racquet strength the outcome would have been the same.
@jeffs48175 ай бұрын
I'd suggest you take up pickle ball then! 😂
@carlosibarra17894 ай бұрын
Sir, you cannot compare Raquetball to tennis, squash, pickle crap, or badminton. The IRT now plays with a black ball which is slower and does not bounce the same as purple ball. Stick to what you know. Kane is a BEAST. GOAT. In a tournament, you get to play the top players. This kid is obviously not on the same level, but he has a lot of courage to step in the court with the best player in the WORLD, would you do the same???
@erikp65053 ай бұрын
He never put Kane in a defensive position, if you give a pro - lame ducks, he will roll them out 8/10 times. Man was just way overmatched.

Using the edge of the door like that is new to these eyes. Even in defeat Kane entertains.

Unfortunately, that’s not entertaining. should’ve handled that loss more professionally. I’ve see De La Rosa smash his racquet against the door when he lost. Even the best are not on top forever!

Good RB. Might want to try moving back more towards glass when receiving drive serve, especially when someone has such a wicked fast serve that’s barley crossing short line. 🤷🏼♂️

Whoever was reffing this match doesn't have a clue about service rules. Almost all of Ben's drive serves to the right side were faults because his racquet was breaking the plane of the 2nd red line. Most of them were not even close, rather they were blatant violations.
@314shorts2 жыл бұрын
That’s never been a rule...you’ve obviously never played the sport

@@314shorts Hey, whipper snapper - YOU are the one who has likely never played the game, made clear by your silly comment. If you don't think I know what I am talking about, how about letting the rule-breaker himself explain it to you! Ha ha ha. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lZx2rLiHmquukqc.html Slow the video player on KZfaq down to 0.25 speed and watch the serve at 1:42, for example. He's WAAAAAAAY over that line. Not even close. Yet the referee didn't call it. I'm surprised Kane didn't say anything, but he knew all along Ben couldn't beat him, so it really didn't matter.
