Hello Fish On! Sports. Respectfully, please stop “Hotspotting” Hat Creek. The parking lot is too full, and giving location just adds to the fishing pressure…..We all enjoy your videos, even without knowing the location.

After the dead drift initially, I let it swing with small short strips. That's when the trout would grab the dropper, very effective! Thanks for watching and tight lines.

You may want to play those bigger fish on the reel, rather than leaving line floating all over the place. Could cause some heartbreak one day. Gotta love the way a GoPro lens and a 4-weight turn 8" fish into epic-looking rod bends, though! Fun stuff! Hat isn't always so generous with her gifts!
@dmosull1
@dmosull1 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice Bill! However, it's not always possible to get the line back on the reel to fight the fish, I have lost fish trying to do that and I just strip the line, if it's not a really big fish. The LTS Finesse 4wt rod makes fighting those smaller rainbows a lot of fun, although it has handled 20+in fish really well too. Hat Creek is definitely tough at times. Thanks for watching my video and tight lines!

@dmosull1
@dmosull1 7 ай бұрын
Hi Reid, there are not many spots to fish from the shore. You can fish at the riffle that comes into Baum Lake from Crystal Lake, or right off the car park where you see me in the video. You need to be careful of the mud when wading there! Best way is to have a float tube or water craft, you will have access to way more areas for fishing. Good luck and tight lines! Week days are better for less pressure.
