If Guthrie had been playing in the same era as Hendrix, he would have been more famous. Jimi was great but nowhere near Guthrie's level

Very old school feel with this one. No instrumental pyrotechnics. I don’t think this will be one of their more popular songs but, with a concept album telling an overarching story, it gets the job done.

7:40 I love Igorrr for their idgaf attitude 😅the kick drum is playing on the last quaver beat of each measure and it’s very odd and unique but doing random things like that interest me 😅

Love this song too 😄 Isaac and Arie were in God dethroned before being in Epica so I think they wanted to pay a tribute also at the same time as having a moment of fun (and without Simone in this one 😅)

The modal shifts are insanity and it somehow works. The ending of this song actually begins the theme for the Parallax: Hyper sleep Dialogues EP and eventually the Parallax 2: Future Sequence concept album. Very fun stuff

My favourite song from their older stuff, their sound is nowadays less guitar-focused and includes more synth and modern metal elements so it might take some time to adjust but I recommend to check Devotion from their newest album

Yeah, such moments of unison between the band and the audience are so powerful, you just don't want the concert to stop (we can see here the audience still singing after they stop playing). I was lucky enough to live some of them with Anathema, but also with Dark Tranquillity, or with Orphaned Land when the lead guitar lost the sound during a solo and the audience spontaneously sang to replace it : you could see the hapiness on Yossi's face (and how he cracked up when the solo reached the high notes XD )

Babymetal are big Metallica fans. :) They are a great band. They have broken many borders with their music with many cultural appreciation type songs and phenomenal musicians. Cheers from Canada Babymetalheads. love yall.

Fellow German here (writing in Englisch so most people can read, too). Yes, Happy Metal. But not only that, they have a vast portfolio of very different songs. From very poppy to super heavy, dark even. They started when they were kids! You should explore them, you will be VERY surprised! I´m a fan since 2016, but only experienced them watching videos so far. Last year in November I saw them live and in person at the Palladium in Cologne, it was an amazing, outstanding experience! They are a one of a kind thing, they won´t fit in any box you could think of. At this performance from 2023 you saw and heard Su-Metal (Vocal and Dance), Moametal (Scream and Dance) and Momometal (official member with this concert, Scream and Dance). Su-Metal does the main vocals most of the time, but there are performances of Moametal and Momometal taking lead. They are both very good singers, too! All three ladies are incredibly talented. Try "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)" from 2015 next. Su-Metal (the main singer) was 17 years old at that performance, Yuimetal (former member, left the group in 2018) and Moametal were 15.

Well the name Babymetal is simply a joke about the writing. If you write Heavy Metal in Kanji, you only make to strokes more and you have Babymetal.

Welcome to the foxhole and with a T-Shirt like that i have to recommend going way back to where it all kind of kicked off 2013 Legend 97 apocalypse concert and the infamous version of Babymetal Death where they pay homage to Metallica,Alice Cooper and XJapan(just do this version before you do any other version). Best live band on the planet have fun on your journey 🦊

You have so many songs to go down haha I'll keep it simple and list 1 Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (highlights the kami band behind the girls front and center invite only arena, heavy ballad type song).
