You're right, Rod. The journey there & the journey back, was sunny dry weather. Ain't it bonkers when you arrive somewhere in the rain & days later you leave in the rain. At least the regular and heavy rainfall makes for a spectacular waterfall 😁

Nice and practical modification. If it suits you and how you want/need the van to be then it's the right thing to do. BUT ! i often see on videos from people who have bought either a swift or elddis van that they're chopping and changing things. Are these people buying the right van in the first instance. Yours is a sensible mod as you can easily return it to factory spec. A private buyer will probably appreciate this but when an original owner permanently alters the original build ( i.e cuts holes etc ) then if it comes time to trade in at a dealership then that will almost certainly devalue a dealers offer. Dealers want low mileage unaltered units. Unless mods ( such as professionally fitted solar panels etc ) have increased the value ( to the dealer. ) just beware how much you alter the van. The drawers in production line vans always look flimsy at best.

Thank you for watching & thanks for your comment. To be honest, I'm not one for modifications myself, especially those that involve cutting & chopping & drilling holes etc etc, especially in a new vehicle. I do, however, feel this mod is an improvement for us as we can now store larger single items, bedding & the like. I've left the factory screws in situ & the drawers in a safe place, so as you say, this mod could easily be put back to factory. If you're interested, I further modified this board at the very beginning of the "Quarry View Touring Park" video, link below. Cheers. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y76Xe8521MW-pZ8.html

Thank you for your encouraging words. As KZfaq channels go, it is very early days. I guess we're just building the foundations. Hopefully, the channel will continue to grow by being upfront & authentic. After so long together, Tracey & I have natural banter. Hopefully, this will continue to be visible through the lens. Yes, the weather was just perfect & Callum had the cats, he is currently home from university for the summer, best wishes Andrew & Tracey.

Hi curious if your 184 is the 2024 model with the 2 leisure batteries. If so, how long can you go off grid without having to hook up please?
@thomsonsUKtrips29 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for tuning in. Ours is a MY2023, we ordered it in February 2023 & took delivery in October 2023. It has a single leisure battery located under the drivers captain seat. The van has a smart alternator, also a factory fitted 100w solar panel, therefore, your question of how long you could stay off grid, I guess, would massively depend on the time of year.

Evening Guys, Wonderful, honest,funny cracking vlog. Lovely area and great walks by the looks of it 😀. Awning looked great, comedy sketch with cadac, what no legs 😅. Cosori air fryers are great it's what we have 👍. Can't wait for the next one, hopefully soon 😊. Take care all. Paul and Joanne 👍. PS let's hope you make 500 subs soon.

Thank you for tuning in & thank you for your lovely comment. We're still trying to find our feet reference KZfaq, vlogging, editing, camping & travelling. There really are some lovely great walks around that area. After purchasing the Cadac, I put it in the garage & forgot about it for 6 months, unbelievable eh, I had completed forgotten the legs were in a separate bag 🍔 😰 🤣 Stay tuned for more school boy errors, lol.

Cheers, Billy, for tuning in & a massive thank you for your subscription. Just watched that bit back & and you're super observant as I hadn't spotted it either at the time or during editing. Hi to you both plus cats 😊. We are new subscribers to your channel. We have watched your back catalogue of vlogs and really enjoyed them, love the northern humour don't hold it against us but we are from the other side of the pennies 😅. We visited Abbey Wood about 12 yrs ago, there seems to have been some big changes for the better. The pizza place looked great 👍. Keep your vlogs this way and we are sure your channel will grow. All the best and take care. Paul and Joanne 👍

Good job, I've removed the drawers from our 184 but haven't fitted the shelf yet. I've also dismantled the drawers and I'm going to use some of the panels to extend the shelf above the pump, and add a shelf in the big cupboard under the sink. I have no intention of putting the drawers back as I'm convinced the next owners will prefer the bigger space under the seat. I've also unscrewed the top padded pieces of each seat so they can be easily removed in bed mode, as I'm 5'8" and my toes bend back with them on when in bed.
@thomsonsUKtrips2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. It sounds like you're making it your own & there's nowt wrong in that. I believe your idea could actually be a very good use of the old drawers, I may look at something like that myself. Also, a previous comment suggested making a dwarf wall to protect the gas pipes from items that could possibly move around in this cupboard area, so I am going to be looking at this, cheers.👍
@alancasey26502 ай бұрын
Good job, but think you need a small dwarf wall to protect the gas pipes from equpmet that you might put in the cupboard

Love this modification, great job, we have a Carrera 144 - I’m going to do the same👍 Did you template it firstly to get cuts for the wood?
@thomsonsUKtrips2 ай бұрын
The only template I made out of cardboard was around the inner wheel arch to get the correct shape. The other cuts I just measured & transferred the measurements to the wood. I sped up the video as it took me around half an hour in total to cut out all the correct shapes, hope the video helps 👍
