Great version, Carl would love it! BUT... I could have done with a better guitar player/singer, who could have stuck to the original script and omitted the "flash" playing, a real player doesn't need anything but his fingers to hold and trill a note and to go between notes holding the "trill"...Greg Lake would NEVER have done such a DISERVICE to such a BEAUTIFUL and perfect song; R.I.P you fantastic MUSICIAN. Keith, you're gone now and Rest In Peace....However, less show-off at the end would have done better justice to this PERFECT composition of BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. By the way, I see early 60's folks expounding their youthes and memories....I am 72 and was only 17 at the time....do the MATH. This was my lifes-long iconic song about my First and ONLY TRUE LOVE in this life.....

Just love this version of this amazing song! Great work by Marc Bonilla. So cool to hear Keith Emerson expand on that brilliant Moog lead out. First heard it on the album in 1970 when I was 14 at school in a music class. You could almost see the sound flashing between the massive stereo speakers that were about 20 feet apart. And that deep, deep bass note! Classic. Been hooked ever since.

The performance was captivating with its beautiful rendition, but the ending was marred by a discordant synth Moog finale.

This song blew up my mind while student at the Polytechnic of Bucharest, Romania. We've got a vinyl disc in the campus and a guy had a professional audio system with large boxes able to do 20 - 20000 Hz range properly. That night I understood that music will never be the same in the future. But the acoustic instruments will have to remain. Today, the music missing the organic, acoustic, analogic substrate is ... just noise. The younger generations addicted to keyboards and computer samples might lose the ability to play instruments but I hope that a few will keep with the organic music. Be creators, kids, not copy-paste monkeys!

Awsome song since it's origional conception as with this rendition, except in the end the keyboardist must be on some bad LSD(?). Would rather listen to the original cut as I have since it was first broadcast.

You may recognise that his forth and fifth finger of his right hand was disabled, also his third. Very unlucky medical condition for a top pianist.

I've been suffering neuropathy in both my hands for a few years now. I even had unnecessary and painful carpel tunel surgery with very little anesthesia (long story.) Playing music isnt quite as much fun now, it sort of feels like I am wearing gloves, and string instruments are out of the question. All that I went thru is nothing like what Keith had to endure. I just now realized he had no use of two fingers, in his right hand no less. That is a real game changer, I ain't gonna lie. Unfortunately you can hear it in the music. He was brave to get on stage but I know it pained him terribly Who knows how many A-holes flamed him on-line after this but he took it extremely hard. Every one of them bears some responsibility for his decision to end his career very permanently.

It's amazing to think Greg fought against playing & recording this masterpiece, apparently the band almost split up over it.. but then I guess in the larger picture his mellower balladeering side did balance out Keith's harder edge
