Hiro... you are absolutely phenomenal and I absolutely love all of your incredible videos thank you so much for sharing your incredible talents with us....An important note is that if you watch his right hand what he's doing is he's using his middle finger to pluck the G and his pointer finger to pluck the A string, I had to put it on AB repeat and slow it down in order to catch exactly what he's doing that's why he has such an economy of motion and it's so fluid if you try to do it with just your pointer finger it's a little more difficult but it can be done

I cant get my bass to make the same slap sound, I'm pretty sure I'm doing it the same way.

It could be the setting, eq or set up of your bass. If your tone is rolled down too much or eq is too muddy or action is too high, it is definitely harder to get clear slap and pop sounds.
