This may be a stupid question but if one side is bigger than the other, which one is side A and which one is side B. I want to get a thumbturn cylinder and obviously make sure the thumbturn is on the correct side.

In answer to Mark Thompsons question below. The handles can be made easier and it usually involves adjusting the door mechanism. Mark- Can you try locking the door lock whilst the door is open. If you find it is easier , you will need to adjust the keeps on your door.
