Helpful video. Thanks ! Hope to harvest a bull elk this fall and try my luck w DIY tanning (hair on). Quick question...I understand the liquid laundry soap used as a cleaner, but the purpose of the liquid laundry softener ? Does it aid in reducing the surface tension of the water ?
@flymanff
@flymanff 3 ай бұрын
I hope you can get your elk, and give it a go at tanning. The softener will permeate the hide and help the process of softening it.

I kept my hides in the freezer. How can I still flesh them?
@flymanff
@flymanff 5 ай бұрын
I have frozen several hides, and they are easily fleshed when they are partially thawed. You can also refreeze them after fleshing or if needed they can be frozen as many times as you need, even during the stretching and drying phase. Best wishes, and don’t give up.

I noticed after fleshing and washing my elk pelt the the hair started coming out in clumps in certain areas...Do i have to throw away the whole hide now? Or can i just remove the hair now and still tan the hide and use it? Thank you
@flymanff
@flymanff 8 ай бұрын
Great question. You sure can use it. Removing the hair is necessary to make rawhide, or buckskin. Here’s a video I did on removing the hair and tanning a deer hide. Making buckskin from start to finish. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpebdpCX37-Vqas.html Same process for elk.

It's beautiful! Being from New England and now living in CA. I'll always miss the snow. Although Mendocino hard multiple snow days. One storm gave us 6" and it stuck around for a few days. It also destroyed thousands of trees that broke or uprooted due to the accumulated weight of snow. Mostly the live oak.

I worked in the towing business for 30 years and was taught you never saddle a dead horse. Meaning the saddle part of the clamp goes on the working end the u bolt goes over the short end. Never really knew why but did as told.

The coils in the windings may be broken, or it may be overheating due to many different issues. It maybe best to start looking at the simple things first. Is it under too much load, are the bearings turning freely? It also could be a problem with the current / voltage. I hope you find the problem so it will work again. Best wishes.

Shiyo! Awesome video my brother! I was working on doing the very same thing. Unfortunately, I had dropped my phone into a river and it sunk about 10' under in deep mud. I lost all my content so I will have to redo my entire video series. I wanted to say a special thank you and thank our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for the humble reminder on eating blood. The Lord showed me this scripture as I was reading through Leviticus this morning and I immediately thought to take the video down. As the day progressed the thought got pushed to the storage files until you humbly reminded me. I have since removed the video and am currently uploading a statment concerning the removal. Again, thank you for your spiritual admonishment my brother. Pray for me an unworthy sinner. Sgi🙏

Hello Flymanff. We have been surfing the internet hoping to find someone that can assist us. We recently watched your video at: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrRzoJZ3zc26h6M.html . Do you have any experience with resolving overheating in CAT pressure washer pumps? We own a CAT Pump Model 2SFX30GS. It has developed an overheating problem. It overheats after 3 mins run time. Our Pump Tech replaced Valves, Valve seats, Seals, Bearings and Unloader. While operating the pump meets and sustains its set and desired operating discharge pressure. Can you offer some advice as to why overheating still occurs? The original overheating event melted the Oil Fill Red Cap. We're not certain but the overheating seems to be occurring in the crankcase. Thank you.
@flymanff
@flymanff Жыл бұрын
Did you check the oil level?
@lankimo23
@lankimo23 Жыл бұрын
@@flymanff The oil level was very low at the time we noticed that the Oil Fill Cap had melted and fallen to the side of the pump header, unnoticed. The Cap being melted and fallen out of position would've allowed oil to spill out the crankcase while the pump operated. Since that time the oil level has been maintained at the correct level during test runs post replacement of suspected damaged parts.

I am new to the industry and im trying to repair vacuum cleaners, and the motors always fail. How do i fix the motors I dont want to replace them, one doesnt spin, one burnt, one was sparking, and the other one is working but it sounds like something is being dragged.
@flymanff
@flymanff Жыл бұрын
Great question, try checking the connectors, the bearings, and the brushes on the motor. If you can replace parts like these it could keep them running a while longer. It is sometimes better to replace the motor. I hope you the best. And thanks for watching my videos.
