G'day. When you install the DV+, you re-use the original solenoid. If the rubber's were not perished before the upgrade, there's a chance that the original solenoid is at fault. Perhaps check that the cylinder is moving freely and smoothly. Failing that, test with a known good original part. Over 4 years later - no issues here. Good luck!

Hey there - If the thermostat housing has failed, yes, that will prevent the compressor turning on, however, low gas will also do the same. If you have a good scan tool, check for stored codes. The thermostat A/C code I think is stored in the BSI, and not the Engine ECU, so not all scan tools will pick this up. If your thermo fans run after you turn the ignition off, this is a tell-tale sign that your thermostat is faulty. If this isn't occurring, more likely you've got low gas is the system. I have read on a few forums that the condenser is a common point of failure on the 308. I'm still chasing a very slow leak on mine. Check out my other A/C 308 videos if you haven't already. @@Justfixitmate Thanks for your advice.For a long time the radiator fan did used to stay on, including after the engine was turned off. Although weirdly, the radiator fan doesn’t seem to operate anymore and the temperature gauge shows normal range. I wonder if this could be related to a heater matrix blockage previously which has cleared itself? To be honest the heating during winter and the cooling in summer have always been pretty poor. So, I’m guessing a new thermostat and possibly heater matrix needs flushing before turning back to look at the AC. Thanks.

@@Telstar_1 Sounds like thermostat housing to me - worth confirming with a scan tool, or by measurement if you can before you replace. Replace with an original part if you can, the aftermarket ones don't seem to last. Might be worth checking when you last replaced your cabin filter too.

Quite possibly, you could try swapping some of the rear seats around to see if that makes any difference. Over the past weeks I've been pulling apart a set of sensors/unit to hopefully find the root cause of issues with these things... Keep an eye out for a new video in the near future.

You're testing my memory... I remember when the Thermostat was bad, once you cleared the code you had AC functioning for maybe one drive cycle before turning off again. I suspect you'll need to clear the code once you've changed the thermostat - but I'm not 100% sure since this was more over 4 years ago.

I've never measured myself, but this sounds maybe right. Pin 2 needs to be pulled high by the ECU to 5 or 12V. If the ECU is polling this signal (very likely) then your multimeter will be seeing the average voltage at this pin which could explain why you measure 3.3V. If I get a chance I'll make a measurement out of interest.

@@sinasarhadi90 In water = open circuit: (you wont measure anything), Out of water = connection to ground. Measure continuity between ground and pin 2 to test.

Hey there! There are a lot of cheap aftermarket thermostats available online. Do you know if an original part was used? Do your thermo fans ever stay on after ignition off? this is a sign there's an issue with the thermostat. It could be you're dealing with a slow leak in the AC system and you have lost your gas. If you're losing gas, you might hear a hiss/whooshing noise in the cabin when you first turn on the AC. At some point there will be insufficient gas in the system and the ECU will stop turning on the compressor altogether to protect itself. This kind of lines up with your symptoms. Could just be coincidence there was a thermostat change over that time period.

Quite likely a similar issue with loose connector / ribbon cables, however I'm not really familiar with the s95. Good luck with it!
