OMG.......Is this fool for real??? I don't own a caravan yet, but have been watching lot's and lot's of KZfaq videos, so that when I'm ready, I will have a small grasp on what I should be looking for. Now, for over 10 minutes I have watched this idiot, whinge and complain, saying about all these jobs he has to do, is the reason why so many people give up what appears to be a fantastic little caravan, because of all the jobs, prior, during and after the trip....everything this idiot has mentioned is the same for ANY size caravan or motorhome.....well except that he has to use "The motor mover" to put in place, not only does this show his lack of skills reversing, but it also shows his lack of driving skills, and wastage of money. He then whinged that normally he doesn't take his canopy, but as he was going with friends, he had to put it up and down several times....this was so his friends could have a place to gather in....hmm let's see, if they want a meeting/entertainment place, maybe they could help him each time.....wow..what a genius idea...yep, obviously no brains required for him caravaning. If all you can do for 10 minutes is to whinge....stop posting!!! so that people wanting information, can find better things to waste 10 minutes of their life on, as I have now lost 10 minutes of my life.

@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales My wife and I have toured/walked (where possible) the entire Welsh and English coastline whilst using a Gobur (folding caravan) over the last 3 years. We thought we may need to get a motorhome to do Scotland, but your videos have convinced us to get a Basecamp 2. Random question: Did you fit the TV bracket?
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales

@@mickjohnson3769 impressive👏👏👏 I’m slowly on a similar journey. Depending on the year, Basecamp’s are supplied with the TV bracket installed or prepped ready for one to be fitted. Mine was already installed. We have been to Scotland in a Motorhome and found we couldn’t explore much and spent our days driving. I prefer going to Scotland now with a caravan and basing in a particular area for a week or so and fully exploring with the ease of a car. The Basecamp is ideal for its compact size yet very comfortable and practical.

@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales Ай бұрын
@@therealpipgoddard I would go for the Westfield Lynx Travel Smart 200. This is because it’s very light, quick and easy to pitch solo and packs down and back in the bag easily too. In addition it looks superb on the back of the Basecamp as it has the same curved shape. Compromise with that awning is the protruding bumpers on the Basecamp put a gap between the weather seal and the caravan. If done a review of this awning here:- kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNabgJRm27GdqXk.htmlsi=iBFxKhPZPan04dpw The second would be the Dometic Portico 180 door awning. I’ve only recently got one of these and it’s brilliant for short stays and for when the weather is to bad for an awning:- www.dometic.com/en-gb/outdoor/motorhome-and-van/rv-awnings/awning-accessories/canopies-vestibules-and-annexes/dometic-portico-air-180-s-331496

Just a couple of points. I still find it difficult to believe that anyone without experience would go out and invest in a caravan (particularly a brand new one) without first spending a year or two hiring caravans of various types and sizes. You need to be absolutely sure that the vehicle, and life style are suited. And once you take to the highway don't be overly ambitious; perhaps settling for one destination. Once ensconced leave the caravan where it is and take day trips using the car only. That way you will see more of the country and have a much more relaxing time. Frequent packing and unpacking which these days has to involve so much paraphernalia is no holiday.
