I remember Simon Cowell, saying sometime after that season ended, after Adam had come in second, and I don't remember who came in first, that he thought Adam Lambert would be an "international super star" and the guy, who came in 1st, would become a U.S. star. Who knew Simon Cowell was a prophet? I'm sure the contestants didn't.

Lambert grew up in California and was singing on stages way before Idol. He had the experience of performing in front of an audience and tried out for Idol. I heard he was sleeping minutes before audition. There was a picture of Adam sleeping in a squat position at the audition. They waited for hours and hours to be heard🇺🇸

Adam clearly should have won the competition this season but sadly America in 2009 wasn’t ready for a gay American Idol. 😢

When they're confident and not afraid of what people say about you, I hear he was raised by very supportive parents, and that's so VERY important.
