I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Sr. Aloysius on several visit to Derry. She truly did become an icon for she drew many people closer to her because in her presence you felt closer to God.

I have just finished reading this book. The one thing I saw that the author displayed, without seeing it in himself, was his own courage as he saw the story through from being helpless when he was young to his campaign to see the removal of the last public memorial to those who were his abusers and others in the clergy who were supporters of the abuser. This man has courage, and his courage should be a marker for others.....

This is a heart wrending account of violent sexual abuse which made me sad and angry in equal measure. A courageous book which I would urge anyone who has been a victim of abuse at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church to read. It is a damning indictment of the Institutional Church which cares more about maintaining its power than the innocent victims who have suffered.
