Metal conducts electricity. So don't go poking around that steel until you disconnect the supply from the wire.

You’d be lucky to get $50 of copper outa there. And spend a couple hours messing with it. Not worth it. That old building probably only had power to a couple lights and maybe an outlet or two. Not worth it.

I’m not trying to get nobody in trouble, but I went up a hollow somewhere in Kentucky and found all kinds of old metal steel cars all kinds of stuff that could be scrapped searched for days could not find the owners the people that own. The land said they did not own the stuff, so we removed it for him and I can tell you that the junkyard literally had no questions for us where that stuff came from. They picked it up with a track-hoe And threw it on a bed and about 12 hours later, it was headed down the Ohio river. They never said nothing like this so maybe things have changed. I don’t know.

That is kind of an oxymoron because when I bought my land I ended up with 400 abandoned rail. I still have them I was thinking of putting a train around my property. I even have curves. I cut them up and make bumpers on my trucks. Or make fence post. What else can you do with them pennies on the dollar is not worth hauling them.
@timdobbАй бұрын
Yeah I know somebody who bought land and found about 50 tons of old steel rail on his land and could scrap it
@mlpabq1Ай бұрын
But they are happy to take full spools of copper cable stolen from my business that are obviously not scrap.

If you find some old rails you can sell them to people wanting to get into blacksmithing to make anvils out of

They pollute the groundwater in the areas they are based at. They sell mixes of used and worn metals which produces the weak metals of today. The metal you see and buy today is not half as strong as the metals of the 70s. People like this love to toss the word Recycling around alot because you have been trained that is a good word. In fact recycling has next to zero benefits in any situation.

They should own a pawn shop. "It's a lot of work to get this counterweight off of there. Even though it's a pure alloy and really heavy, we aren't paying you shnit."😮

Open the valve and make sure all of the gas or whatever is in there out of those tanks obviously away from anything to conducts heat and cut it with your mobile share most people take the top off cuz that's brass check it out there's a lot of scrap yards that do it check out the video e h scrap yard in Florida headset with their mobile shears and then it's prepared Steel

what about copper ingots ?
@CuriousEarthMan2 ай бұрын
don't make ingots unless you want LESS money than the copper you had before. If the yard sees what the material is, they'll pay accordingly. When you make an ingot, they have no idea what is actually in it, and it isn't worth assaying, unless you get them regularly and they are over 1000 lbs. Meaning, if you are a known smelter, with an assay, you can sell ingots. Otherwise, you are losing money. Even if they have an XRF machine and shear your ingot into several pieces to test it, they'll knock the price down for the troubles and effort it takes them.I hope that helps!
