On my 2007 TT with a 4 cyl. engine, it was fairly easy to get to. So, I just replaced the part with a used one (that I made sure was working the right way first). If your Toyota has the whole thing mounted underneath the intake manifold, I can see why you might want to use the hewitt-tech bypass system.

Ok... Maybe I'm old now, but flyers did not EVER assume the base's position. Ever. I was never to be a base, even if that meant I hid. Also, you're too tall to fly when you're almost landing on your feet. They put a base up... This is awful simply because some people can't fly. And I see 2 that should never be flying here. And then 3 great flyers that should never be bulking up from being a base for bases that are too tall or big to fly. There, I said it. It's gravity. Use the small people with gymnastic backgrounds to fly. Red is a foot too tall to fly.

I'd use an open base stool/chair and face the other way, webbing instead of chain to protect bar knurling. That way you raise with the weight and won't have a slip risk.
