I think the current state of the moisture of your hair is more important than it being stretched or not. If once your washngo dries you're already seeing problems I think that means your hair wasn't properly moisturized beforehand. Only moisturized curls can hold their form. Once they start to dry out that's when you start to see frizz and shrinkage. Depending on your hair porosity I would recommend doing a hot oil treatment (that doesn't contain cheap/mineral oils) or using a really good water-based leave in conditioner (something with things like aloe vera, vegetable glycerin, honey, gelatin, etc) along with a deep conditioner so your hair gets the opportunity to absorb some moisture to hold its curls/coils with before you but stuff like mouse and gel on it. Because let's be honest it's not like that stuff it's great for our hair (due to some of the artificial ingredients/chemicals in them) but it serves a purpose tho it can't do it if your hair isn't up to it. Also if you do all this and it still doesn't work, that probably means your hair type kind of requires you to take the extra time to separate your curls individually while it's wet. If that's the case I wouldn't really consider it a wash and go at that point even though it technically is 😂. It would just be more work than I'm willing to put in, which why I basically never do wash and go's because if your hair is a certain texture it takes more work to get results this good.
