People will infringe on a bears space, then if the bear tries to run them off, they will shoot the bear. It should be illegal to carry a fire arm in a bear habitat. The forest is not a zoo. Leave these animals alone! Keep your distance!

If you think this is a brown bear you might want to reconsider going out into wild country. That's a grizzly bear.

Coastal brown. Grizzly is a term for the same bear living about 60 miles inland with a variation diet of ground squirrel, caribou/moose calves, berries, etc, vs coastal brown with tons of salmon and other fish in the diet. The latter tends to be about 200-700lbs heavier and better temperament because food is so plentiful. Anyone who disagrees is a sanctimonious, booksmart, theoretical assh0l3.

I think it's a griz! The hump is obvious. The brown bear doesn't have a hump or bump on or behind its neck, more like the neck of a black bear. But a big Black or Brown bear is close to that size. He must not have been hungry or curious. I'm glad it turned out well.
