I would really be curious to see how that concrete is holding up... A 3" slab is not sufficient for holding 1,500 gallons of water. That much water weights 12,500+ pounds. There are a lot of things to consider here. If you take a 1/2" dowel that is 1" long and try and break it in half with just your hands, you would not be able to do it. If you take that same dowel, but make it 4' long, you will easily be able to break it with your hand. Why? Because even though the thickness didn't change, the length did, which allows the force on the ends to have a greater effect. For it to not break, you need to increase the thickness as you increase the length. The same goes for concrete pads. The larger the pad, the less weight it can support if you do not increase the thickness. At a minimum, that pad should have been 6" thick with #4 rebar spaced every 2'. Personally, I would have gone 8" think with #5 rebar placed every 2', and had a concrete company bring it as the consistency of the mud is just as important as the thickness and reinforcement. You also should have had plastic under it to help it retain moisture as it cured. You said early in your video that you felt confident in your concrete abilities having done it a couple times, but concrete is something that can take years to be able to master. And even then, people still make huge mistakes.

You definitely know your concrete and I appreciate the checking in and all your shared info. Yes, all good points. It has been a while since making the slab and it’s still holding together. Thank you again!

My mates and used to play this all the time and sing along to various parts. We loved it too. I have really fond memories of my times with those friends and playing songs like this. I’m still in touch with one of those guys and he and we still quote This Jams For You (and some other songs from that era) to each other. Great song. A very inspirational song. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed this vid. Cheers.

@Scott-Dunn He's on the chorus , and sings the U.N.I.T.Y part on the song . They were actually featured on a episode of In Living Color performing this song .

Well that's unfortunate - he doesn't know how to pick up a crab. You can easily tear out a leg by pulling on it like that. If you know what you're doing you don't have to keep jerking your hand back like that.
