I built one they ain't good hi cg and the shell is hard to close but I suppose the sliders are OK and the cage but the chassis ain't lcg

It’s interesting that people from the trades have a knack for RC tinkering I have a strong mechanical background & have been an avid mountain biker for years so RC fit right in.

Sorry for the delay in response. Yes, I agree with your statement. Trades folks lean into things mechanical outside of work. Just at our outfit we have half a dozen RC guys and probably 2 dozen guys and gals into 1 to 1 motorsports of some kind. I myself restore “older” dirt bikes when I have time. Recent project is a 2002 KDX 200.

Have you found any issues with rear tire wear using overdrive more or less all the time?

Not really but when “trailing” between climb spots I kick the rear into the center or freewheel position. Helps with speed and battery life 👍

There is a video of someone testing this with different overdrive % and then took the car apart to see if it caused extra wear and seen no difference. I think these things are so light that it doesn't matter. At least on dirt.

I had an ecx barrage back in the day. Those had a 380 or 390 size motor too, but a 25 amp esc. I swapped in a hobbywing 1060 with about the same result, smoother and quieter. Just picked up a utb18 last week and the first thing that cane to mind was another 1060, they're only about $20. I have several spare 60a esc from upgrading some of my 1/10 rigs. Not ready to go brushless like everyone else is doing just yet. Not until I build up the drivetrain to handle it. 👍👍

I got the 1080 on sale, been working great with stock motor. keeps me from overpowering the stock front shafts....Aint broke them yet.

Injora 1.9 negative off set bead locks. Proline BFG crawlers class Zero (3.85”) star cut front foams. Front brass portal covers. Front overdrive, rear underdrive and extended rear links 10mm

Yes, the 1080 esc is a huge improvement. They recently updated the 1080 to. The G2 version. I caught one of the originals on sale for $37. The new version is like $43 on Amain. Either way it’s a win. I also added a futaba receiver to match up to my better transmitter. 1080 will fit in stock location, receiver just laying in there under the “driver”

My opinion: more capable out of the box than the TRX4m. The TRX4m is a cool rig but closer in scale to the SCX24. Where the Baby Capra is closer to the 1/10 scale stuff.

1.9 Injora with negative off set. Aluminum. Pro-Line Class 0 BFG Krawlers, they are 3.85 inches in diameter compared to the stock at I believe is 3.55 inches. Have fun with the little Capra. Super capable rig. I'm still on the stock brushed motor but went to the Hobbywing 1080 esc. HUGE difference in slow power delivery.

I moded a headlamp stap that normally holds a headlight to now hold my Go Pro, my old hands can't do the "one hand Drive" thing so well and even then I forget to hold the camera in the other hand on tthe subject.

Its a good spot that is close...Western Oregon chock full of spots to explore, Central Oregon even better. I find myself logging spots in my memory bank whenever I am on the road for my real job....

Where did you find the UD portal gears? I prefer UD in the rear over OD in the front seems to work better. Good looking wheels are they 1.55?

I like the shortcut you took when landed on wrong side of pipe. Cut out that whole section and was gone. We normally stop and wait for few seconds before taking off or we get docked a lap

Good stuff. I’m debating a UTB or a LGRP Ripper build. Can’t decide. You tried any 1/24 indoor course stuff yet?

The course at Superior RC for the 1/24 scale rigs is too small for the UTB 18. I did trade a nice ESC for a 1/24 Axial Jeep though….more vids to come on that one 👍
