American is ab the American dream and freedom again, and relating her love to that. American is v underrated imo!! Now cola, is iconic. She said that first line bc this European guy she was seeing said “American girls walk around like their pussy taste like Pepsi cola” and she is referring to guys LIKE Harvey Weinstein (rich famous) in this song, but once his allegations came out she stopped performing it live.
