I soak mine in bleach water for 2 hours, that kills any worms or anything you cant see.

I didnt know your in canada, what part of canada is fish creek park ??? I would love to find some driftwood. I looked around the lake but it realy stunk.even after soaking in bleach it still smelled bad so i couldnt use it.
