As much as I love Jane's Addiction, especially this song, they sounded terrible live when I went to see them. So I checked youtube for live performances and they generally always sound terrible. Sometimes we are blessed to have studio versions.

@@seanmoynihan6714 I saw them live when they supported Nine Inch Nails on the NiNJA tour. Perry's voice was cracking and missing notes too often for my liking. Dave played a solo on Three Days that sounded like it was from another song entirely. If it weren't for the fact I love some NiN too, the entire cost of the concert would have been a waste. And believe me when I say I have listened to Ritual Del Lo Habitual and Nothing Shocking albums more than I should have. So it's not like I'm trying to troll the band. I just wish they were a better live band or I saw them on a better night.

Track one, side one, on the first Pogues album. This song is, in many ways, the essence of the Pogues. And it ain't bad as a cover. For me, one of the most impressive things is the way the accordionist does what James Fearnley did; lay down the riff on which everything else rested. Plus, it's a live recording at the Dublin Castle. Venue matters.
