Maybe this is a dumb question - should I be seeing a 0 or 1 for my Boolean values (for example my M and X registers)? I see some of your value boxes are checked but I wasn't sure if this was a true/false or for the read-write config on/off.

When I wanted to learn more about scada I could not afford training. The top two even worth learning were Wonderware and RS view. At least in my mind. At that time I was an anti Windows person and was searching for a scada that would run on Linux. And there it was! Ignition! And the Download was FREE! So was the training! I love Inductive Automation.

Perfect timing for a natural gas SCADA project I'm starting. Lots of Modbus TCP. Initially using KEPserverEX as the interface to Ignition Cloud edition. Expanding to MQTT Sparkplug at the Edge for self-aware SCADA. Thanks for an excellent explanation of the benefits of MQTT Sparkplug!
