@@jamesteo3901 I wish I had a tube amp, with recording directly from the amp with a microphone. But the Boss GT-1 (multi effect, board instead of many pedals) is very good and easy to use, and also works as an audio interface you have to use to connect to the computer where you record the sound (otherwise you can buy just the interface as a separate unit). The bandlab is a free online recording studio, but there is alot of even better options when it comes to quality of mixing and sound. The Bandlab I’m talking about is the “studio” where the sound from your guitar is recorded and you add the backingtrack, when synchronized with the recording of your guitar you have a final recording that can either be stored just with sound or you can add this to the video of you playing and synch audio and video. You then have applications as iMovie to make a video. Alot of videos on KZfaq that shows you how to start recording music, I scratch my head in the very begging about 3 - 4 years ago, but it’s not as difficult as it may seem. A couple of days and I was recording. Best of luck 😄👍

Hey man... cool guitar! Think it's good for 80s clean pop and also soft/glam metal? or are the humbuckers too "hot" for the cleaner 80s pop sounds... thanks!
@kim-andresandnes57493 ай бұрын
Thanks 😊 I find the humbuckers very versatile, the sustaine is not bad either, but to be honest I would change the humbuckers if this was my go to guitar, Seymour Duncan SH-JB Hot Rodded Humbuckers would to the trick, costs almost as much as the guitar 😅 But the lightness and playability on this guitar is a joy to play with. 👍

@@kim-andresandnes5749 yes I keep looking at it, you know when you know you have to have it!! I'd switch out the pickups too, most folks say the quatums aren't very good. You think SDs would be best to give me that 80s sound? Thanks!
@kim-andresandnes57493 ай бұрын
@@malthus101 I won’t say that it’s bad, I have the Ibanez JS1200 as well, was planning to use this under the covering of this melody, but as I was recording, one of the strings snapped, and I hadn’t the motivation to change strings 🤣 So I picked up the 520 and I think it work out very well by my ear. I enjoy playing the 520 because of the good radios on the neck, and jumbo frets. The guitar thinness is amazing and for the money I would have thought it’s in the price range abow 10 k. One of those guitars that I will always keep, and as I’m using the “simple and cheap” Boss GT multiboard it is easy to create good sounds like 80’s rock/glam etc. It’s not very noise the pick up’s, and the fret job on my guitar was excellent, didn’t need any set up, played it right out of the box 👍 The tremolo is very accurate, and after playing a few hours after string change it keeps very much in tune even with heavy dive bombs 😁

Great playing and sound ! Just scored one of these a few months back but I find it on the heavy side which is strange for basswood. How’s yours? Also I find the string tension really stiff like. Any suggestions? Thanks
@kim-andresandnes57493 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback 😊 Regarding the weight, I find it acceptable, but I wish the part that you rest on wouldn’t be so sharp against the leg. The JS should have had it on that part more flattened. Almost have bruises after sitting playing for a while 😅 I use D’Addario 10 strings, don’t find the tension that hard. Even when I bend the strings on the first fret. Maby have luthier to check the set up. I’m a beginner so not much knowledge I’m afraid, but there are alot of answers from the mighty Google 😊 Take care 🤘😎

@@chromebuoy Thanks good friend 😀🙏 That means a lot!! Like this song, I liked this song since the midd 90’s but got the CD in 2000 🙌 And has been with me in all of my cars ever since. My favorite album from Satch. (Yes I also have bluetooth 🤣) Satch has this enormous catalog of songs, often when I start working on another song from other artists, a new / older songs suddenly catches me from his huge selections of songs. Listen to someone covering “One Big Rush” by Satch yeasterday, and I got hooked to wanting to learn that too. It’s an neverending thrill to learn the songs 😁 You as a guitar player seems so technical and professional, like you are eating breakfast and relaxing, that’s actually a big compliment 🤣🙌 That’s the guitar player I would like to become, playing effortlessly and milking every tone from the instrument with total control. In this cover I did, I had in mind your earlier comment about my vibrato, how to think you’re trying to use a door handle. Hope it was shown that I was more focused on that part 😅
@chromebuoy5 ай бұрын
1984......I was 12 when they released this! I think your playing has come on a lot Kim, this was a nice controlled cover with a lovely singing tone. I do have a little tip to help you with that vibrato! Imagine your left hand is holding a door knob, now turn the door knob left and right over and over. Do this a few times to get the feeling of the wrist movement, now place the same hand position on the neck say 12th fret G and hold a note with the first finger, now practice opening the door movement with the wrist. You should get a nice wide vibrato movement with that note. Now bend the string up on the A note 2 frets up using your 3rd finger still using the door handle method and shake that wrist like your opening a door. Ala Gary Moore! takes some practice but if you start using say 9 string gauge at first it will be easier to shake that note with the wrist, then move back to 10's or whatever you play once you feel happy.
@kim-andresandnes57495 ай бұрын
Thanks man for your good advice and feedback 🙏😄 I will keep this in mind when I practice🙌😅🤘 Not easy to get the vibrato with the controll that creates a good flow. Sometimes it seems easier depending on the song 🎵 See yeah 😃🎸🎸🎸

Never heard this track before, really nice relaxing melody. Your playing is coming along nicely, Kim,. I reckon if you got a compressor, and put it in front of the distortion then practised the cage system patterns using only legato with the left hand only but picking each string once as you move strings I reckon you could free that right hand up faster. I do this every other day for 10-15 mins.....speed and co-ordination starts to really take off. Nice playing bro. 🫶
