Hallo Mike, I had a simular buzz in my SL400. Followed your instructions and glued the cover. Sound is great again. Thanks for the video. Fred.

For the first time ever my SL 550 showed need washer fluid. I filled it but now it is showing again. Great video but I was wondering can I just turn the tire hard and pop off section of liner to expose pump?
@Hobsplace
@Hobsplace 6 ай бұрын
Hello ei3kc You might be able to do that. I would try first...you can always jack the car and remove the tire if needed. There is not much room to work with unless you remove the tire. Best of luck with your repair!

Hey Mike...just have to say a big Thank you for this video. I have a 2014 and had to do the same thing. However now I heard an air leak sound when the active seat bolsters inflate in turns, now the driver's seat bolsters don't work at all!! And I want to fix that, cause I enjoy the security it gives when driving. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!😁

Hello Peter. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I have seen videos where the bladder was repaired with glue and others where the bladder was just replaced. Mine developed the same hissing leak as yours but it was fixed under warranty. Agree the active bolsters are a really nice feature.

Hi Brooks. Glad to help. Should be an easy fix. Just take your time, prying up the speaker grill is the most difficult part. Cheers!

Hey Mike, I have replaced the HK sound system with an Audison one. However, the center channel does not work (mono is prob the reason). I was planning in replacing it with a Focal MBZ. I was wondering if I need to run a new line?
@Hobsplace
@Hobsplace Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris. My guess is the HK had a separate amp for the center speaker but that just a guess. If you can locate the center speaker wire you should be able to connect it if the replacement sound system supports a center channel. Good Luck!

Thanks for the video. I have an 2011 R230 with a similar leak. I think that it is reasonable to assume that the disassembly is very similar to your R231. Did you replace the pump because of a crack in the case someplace. My washer system works fine but leaks out over the course of about a week. Did you have a jack stand to use with the floor jack once you had the care elevated? If so where did you locate it under the car?

Hello Von and thanks for watching the video. I agree that your R230 is probably similar but check first. I replaced the pump assembly that I found online. It was not from MB but had good reviews and has worked fine so far. In my case, the pump was not cracked but the rubber seal at the base was leaking. I didn't use a jack stand, just a floor jack under the front right jacking point. Best of luck with your repair. Cheers.

Does that part even do anything? What would happen if you didn't glue it back in?

Hey Brad. The cap is there to keep out debris that might get caught between the voice coil which is part of the speaker cone and permanent magnet. Probably no issues if you leave it out but I wouldn't recommend it. Cheers.

Hi Mike, delighted. Can’t thank you enough. The speaker was buzzing and driving me mad. The dealership were not helpful or keen to sort it out. After watching your video plucked up the nerve to have a go as suggested. Worked out perfectly as you described. The cone was loose and a bit of superglue gel sorted the issue and the speaker cover went back on no problem. I did have issues trying to get the two far power clips off, but it wasn’t an issue to prop up the cover with a bit of cardboard having disconnected the front connector only. Many many thanks for your advice, much appreciated. Paul.

Hey Mike, I just have to send you a big thankyou for your video. I have just solved exactly the same problem that had developed in my R231 SL400. I got a set of similar tools from Amazon and used the slimmest hooked tool at the far front of the grill, nearest the windscreen and worked the grill out slowly with care. there i found the little cone all loose and rattly. A spot of super glue gel around the edge and back in it popped. reconnected the clock, which then put itself to 12.00 until I switched on the ignition and then set itself to the right time, amazing. I'm sure your video has saved me over £100. Thanks from the UK 👍😎

Use Henry rubberized roof cement, cheap, fast, and reliable fixed. The same price of a 3M tube can buy a ONE gallon can of rubberized roof cement from Home Depot or eBay.
