What an amazing lecture. It would help follow it all if I had more reliable information over the last two decades from the mainstream media. I made three notes. Each would be excellent topics for further discussion. 1. 'not to be told what is good for me". 2. Should Britain become a small country with an interest and influence of its own making? qv. Estonia. 3.USA world power has been severely degraded due to its involvement in what should have been regional disputes. (I think the same comment could be made about Britain.)

She said US should be transactional. Problem is , that is most dislike aspect of West. Being transactional is seen as like being like shylock. Help who you have skin colour match or money relationship. On other hand, kill million of innocents on false claim. May be to test their weapon systems. Problem is US is not seen as principled world leader. Either stop calling urself as world leader or act like one everytime. Another problem you should understand is being transactional dont make you friends. UK has colonised half the world for 2 centuries but still they have more friends than US. Because they did make friends in same countries by not being transactional.

Indeed, the only way this line of reasoning makes sense is if you put extreme racism and russophobia at the source of the problem. There wouldnt be any of this mess or talk if these people hated less. Mass hysteria is a hallmark of western civilization.

Listened with great interest this well-presented lecture by by an educated fool to like-minded people. One has to change the mindset to understand that Russia perceives the threat of ever enlarging NATO as existential. If, seemingly, even the most intelligent political analysts of the international community unable to realize this, then we may end up in nuclear disaster in the worst case scenario. With the mindset expressed by Fiona Hill, Ukraine will be reduced to rubble with the help of current politicians guided by neocons. Neocons need wars to be relevant. US needs government which will address needs of their folk. Throw out neocons from US political scene and US will become again the center of world attention to look for better option of life, including ordinary Russian people.

I wish we had more voices out there like Fiona Hill’s. That was a wonderful presentation. I feel like our leaders need to be slapped upside the head because everything they say seems so out of touch with what the “rest of the world” sees. Why can’t our leaders ever apologize for their mistakes? Why are we not talking about George W Bush and how the American ppl were lied to into a war? Why is Putin the devil yet the president responsible for killing thousands of US soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians walking free and beloved by the Clintons and Obama’s? Why isn’t there a warrant out for his arrest? How can they not see the hypocrisy in everything they say and do? We are a joke on the worlds stage. I’m an American. I love my country. But I’m also very ashamed of the harm we have inflicted on so many countries. Why does everything have to be about conflict? Like the junta in Niger. Why is our military there training them? In fact one of the generals we trained was one of the ones leading the junta. We weaponize the dollar dominance by slapping sanctions on everything that walks. Why can’t they see that this is just pushing countries to seek out a new currency? Why do we STILL have sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela? It’s been decades. Idk, it’s so depressing. Our leaders have refused to acknowledge the harm they have inflicted and are just going to lead us into more conflict while our country crumbles.

29:13 how is Ukraine a threat to Ruzzia? It never was, and this is evident by the constant plea for weaponry. If the weaponry tap is turned off, Ukraine is done for. Ukraine at best, is as of now fighting with one hand tied behind her back. Ruzzia/Pootin must fail, aggression of this magnitude must not prevail. Thank you for uploading and sharing.

I thought Jessica Berlin was the smartest person on the panel until she said nato has to expand. Nato expansion is the reason there is a war in Ukraine in the first place. Wherever nato goes wars follow. And nato does not act in the interest of the world, its acts in the interest of the US and its lapdogs. The world will never stand for nato expansion. She even goes on to say the new nato would be an alliance of democracies defending each other as if democracies don't wage wars of aggression against other countries. And who is going to defend other countries from democracies which wage wars of aggression?

Isn't it funny that she thinks UNSC reforms will only take away Chinese and Russian vetoes. She thinks they are the only countries which use vetoes. The US will never allow any UNSC reform that will take away its veto.

In an alternate Reality, Ukraine would have maintained its autonomy from both Russia and the West, would have a modestly pro-Russian president, would have continued investment from Germany to build up its infrastructure, Russia would have an increasing cooperation with the EU and NATO in dealing with the CCP threat. That picture was where we were heading as late as 2011. Only corrupt psychopaths bent on war profiteering in the West's MIC took us to where we are today. We all know this.

We are not being honest here. A choice was made in 2013 by the Obama White House to create a series of provocations against Russia vis-à-vis Ukraine. The Maidan Coup and the use of NAZI militias integrated into the Ukrainian Military bent on ethnic cleansing against Russian speakers was part of a deliberate plan to get us to where we are today with Russians and Ukrainians killing each other and the MIC making huge bank in the process. WHO CANNOT SEE THIS? Well, there is none so blind as those who refuse to see...because their stonks depend on murder and mayhem. The USA has not chosen this path to chaos anymore than the Ukrainians. Stolen elections and election manipulation by the Intelligence Community are the fundamental evil that allows the current criminals in the Ukraine and USA to maintain this murderous agenda despite public rejection of war for war's sake.

26:07, fascinating, that Brazil views the War in Ukraine as the FIRST proxy war btwn the US and China, bc Russia is already so diminished in its power that it is subordinate to China now in 2023....wow, I am stunned by this revelation by the speaker. 20:38, The terminology of "global south" is reeking of colonialism in the eyes of the 6.8 billion whom the "global south" govts represent...the irony here is that the Uniparty in the US, the Establishment, the biggest imperialistic and militaristic monstrosity in the world, is now revered by the so-called liberals in the US whom also purport to have the interests of the "global south" foremost in their minds, but the "Uniparty" has co-opted virtuosity in the form of hegemonic corporatism, and truly has nothing in mind but protecting itself, and the so-called liberals in the US are subject to its constant misinformation that the reality is otherwise.

Running commentary, 10:16, She seems to wish to shed the past practice of Europe's and by implication, the US's, mercantilism and imperialism, but does she not realize that by the "new approachers" exposing the deep need to move far away from the stale arrangement of the corrupt establishment which she still in 2023 inherently represents, the old guard will simply convulse further, with the old order "Unipartyists" and corporate cronies grounding in and resisting even more violently to the push toward the mini-lateralism that she and the new approachers want? I see a huge chasm developing within the establishment. Civil war in the establishment ahead? I wonder what else she will have to say. I will keep watching....
@animalkingdom137
@animalkingdom137 10 ай бұрын
Here is my running commentary, 7:34, where she says to be flexible and adapt to changing overlaps of partnerships... it is apparent that the wester "establishment" multi-national "Uniparty" is incapable of flexibility because the corporate interests are too vested in their own corporatist corruption in the west so that flexibilty in working relations with the "others" in the remainder of the globe is problematic. Flexibility comes at an entity-level by each organization, such as a corporation, and cannot be implemented at a national or globally regional level at all by pushes and pulls from corrupt governmental entities such as what we see in the Biden White House or at Downing Street.

Ms Hill correctly describes the global south's perception of US and the West's bullying, warmongering and sponsoring of color revolutions around the world. The Global South is tired of the West's post colonial domination, condescending lecturing and double standard.

John Bolton was correct once again, we need a much more muscular foreign policy and a doubling or tripling of the current defense budget. The US has the greatest submarine fleet ever assembled, so we need to start sending super tankers and container ships to the bottom of the ocean, and stop this sanction non-sense. Furthermore, re-implementing monthly atmospheric nuclear testing, will send a message to the Global South better than all of these pro-democracy soft power NGOs ever could. Give John Bolton the keys to the Oval Office and the world will be restored.

Do you know why this 'war' has gone so terribly wrong for the United States and the West? The weaponization of energy and the arrogance of the "collective West" has pushed non-western countries together. G7 leaders are being vilified world wide. I would say the final nail in the coffin was Zelenskyy making an appearance at the Arab League. It overshadow Assads return. The look of disgust on the face of MBS was telling.

13:55 our "experts" don't seem to understand that Russia is not Soviet Union and Russians are not Soviets. And if you still think of Soviet Union when you talk about Russia just consider that the big Soviet leaders that you were scared of weren't Russian. In fact Soviet Leaders kept Russians back and made sure the union is not run by Russian elite (which paid off handsomely at the end). Also the reason of your hatred of Soviets which is Stalin, was Georgian.

Seriously deluded. Firstly they are living off the moral hazard - the "too big to fail" notion - that USA will always come. So lets do this the European way and take our time to develop a defense industry - lets talk 20 years later Secondly, the populations of Europe are not so welcoming of Ukrainians. Netherlands actually had a referendum on this issue and people voted to keep Europe out Thirdly, EU is acting as an entitled lot. They ask for security cover, but struggle when it comes to China. They want that market
