I didn’t know you were friends/colleagues with Mike. Him and his wife are awesome people. I wish they were back into photography influencing. Like you they have multiple talents both as photographers and educators.

Been to Santorini as a stepping stone to other islands. Usually visit early May to catch the wonderful flower display on island such as Kythnos. Even in early May, Santorini was WAY too busy for a couple of oldies such as my wife and I. Once the cruise ships arrive, the place becomes crammed with sweating bodies. Oia was so packed, I couldn't wait to catch the bus back to Fira. Took a great image of the Skaros rock, unfortunately there were a number of models posing for those pesky Instagram images that spoiled the end result. Can't wait to see you touring Serifos. Called in at Sikinos and Sifnos on other tours of the islands.

Was it intentional to wear the "blue roof" colored hat to Santorini? :P I always think it's wild that all the photos are of the "blue rooftops" but there are soooooo few of them. Now that is when I'd want to be there, when there crowds were not!

Brought back many memories of Santorini, your enthusiasm reminded me of mine. It is a wonderful place to chill out and take photos, and I do agree the blue skies, and the white buildings are something very striking. and magical.
@BrendanvanSon10 күн бұрын
I think it was one of my mistakes photographing Santorini the first time - trying to photograph sunset and sunrise. You almost need the blue skies here.

I would say come to Croatia, but it's not gonna be cheap 😂 although it should be getting cheaper from this summer onwards because the greedy locals finally got burned (the basically live the whole year out of summer rent, without actually having a job But Greece is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy! 😊

It's funny, my plan was actually to go to Croatia - I love it. But the flight was cheaper to Greece so that made my choice.
@Adriana.Gabriela10 күн бұрын
@@BrendanvanSon Understandable 😃 and now they're just gonna get more expensive. There's always another year 😜 I was in Greece a few weeks ago, been waiting to go back for about 8-9 years. 13€ flight from Cro (but the capital, probably more expensive from the coast) and pure happiness 😁

Am i the only one who here has a question about the part of being on the phone while drinking coffee and then suddenly roam around the city to show case the beauty of The World's Coolest Unknown City? Bishkek, do you consider this video making as a profession or just a hobby?

It's not just camera batteries that need recharged and good to see you getting some quality 'you' time BvS. Photography to me is not just about the travelling, the gear and the images, it's also a state of mind as it projects a feeling of contentment to enable me to be at ease with myself. I totally relate to what you were saying and hopefully your time away has given you the headspace you were needing.

My dude love the Japan content and the sunstar was epic! Even with the taxi. I wanted to thank you for your honesty on the 50 1.8 I'll be avoiding that lens. There is a 35mm 1.4 on the way from canon for around 1400 USD I believe that's going to be my next lens.

Great vid, private waterfalls in Yorkshire too, by the way when using a space saver wheel it should only be fitted to the rear for safety. This would mean first fitting the spare to the rear and then replacing the flat tyre with the one removed from the rear .

The immigration lines to enter US in many big cities is 2 hours. I’ve seen this happen in Seattle, San Francisco and DC. It’s absolutely unacceptable but US is not any different than UK.

Thanks for a great video. I am going to Monument Valley in 2 weeks so I am glad I found this video. Can you recommend a place should I go to in Monument valley for Milky Way photos? I've never been to a dark sky place (I live in Northeast) so I am hoping to get a couple of print-worthy photos.

Quick gear question, Brendan. Are you still using the EOS R or RP? I ask because the wobbly stabilization, or lack thereof, is pretty distracting. Have you thought about the R6 Mark II? Its stabilization, slow motion, autofocus, etc. are allegedly much better. I really enjoy your content. I will likely never make it to Japan, but I will definitely use your tips in other travel locations.

I think my favorite image is of the guy sweeping the gravel. I know you struggle with street shooting but you have a lot of good architectural images. Maybe just stay away from people. 😂 Cheers!
