I love Garnet Challenger. I purchased the cd 'Harvest Time' on Discogs. I would like to find out more about him and purchase other music. I can't find out anything about him. There is also an H.R. Challenger that is somehow related. Any information that anyone can provide, would be appreciated.

The Halifax in the Yorkshire Air Museum is fantastic as is the recognition of the RCAF and Canadian air crew in WWII. I have visited several times from Canada.

We have the Canadian memorial hangar at Elvington airfield here in Yorkshire, dedicated to the honour and courage to all those that served from Canada in 1939-45. Elvington was an airfield used by 77 squadron and flew Halifax, losing over 500 aircrew and almost 80 aircraft. There is a static Halifax on display in one of the hangars. I look forward to seeing the progress with the old girl, we should never forget the sacrifices of these brave aircrew.

To see a fully complete operational aircraft after all this time would be nothing less than a dream come true. Their absence in the historical aircraft types collection is so regrettable that not one survives in flying order.

Think how easy it would have been if they had actually saved a few way back then.

Just found your site and will be following it for sure. This has special meaning for me as my father was a ground crew SGT overseas with the RCAF during WWII. The Halifax was his baby. One of the bases he served at was in Eastmoor. After the war he was kept on reserve RCAF for years due to his knowledge of not only the Halifax but the Lancaster as well. My mother was also a proud member of the RCAF during WWII mainly at RCAF base Rockcliffe in Ottawa.

I'm very frustrated that only dedicated enthusiasts are keeping the memory of this aircraft 'alive'. To think trillions of dollars/£s are being pumped into war projects year on year, but no money is available from governments to fund the rebuild of craft that meant so much to the survivors of previous conflicts. It's actually peanuts in comparison to the ridiculous amount they throw at recent conflicts. My heart is with these guys, but my budget isn't. My uncle lost his life on a Halifax lll, 20 yrs old. 1944. I will never forget his sacrifice. But it seems many who have come along since, have already turned a blind eye. Thank you for your continued support for the guys who flew these aircraft. It means a lot to us relatives. X

So thrilled to have played even a miniscule part of this while not even being present. Karl, so great to see you again and snippets of Jay Hammond, Bart Beckers, Chris van Hee. I believe that I provided the team with contact info for Bart, Chris and Martin Drewes, not seen here and likely due to feelings of the Hammond family. I've kept up with your great endeavors over the many years both well prior to here in 1997 and for decades after. Betty Floody gave me your (then) address well before 1997 and she was always a top fan of you and your endless and dedicated work. She was a very dear friend of mine that passed in 2004, 15 years after Wally. I only met you once ever, near Toronto Airport after the recovery in 1997. An event never forgotten and I'm eternally grateful to you. Many thanks and best of luck in all that you do in the future!!!

Who decided to melt the 2nd Halifax pieces to form ingots? What a waste!!! They could have sold the original historic bits off for a fortune. Collectors world wide would have snapped them up in no time. Poor decision at best. All that history in terms of artifacts now forever lost with no financial gain. DOH!!!

The north-south line ("Trillium") uses diesel/electric trains, and is being upgraded to accommodate trains of twice the original length so as to double the capacity. There are no current plans to modify the Dow's Lake tunnel, though that would probably be needed if the line switches to a catenary / pantograph system.

I’m sorry to say this ,I found that your Channel has some major problems . I visited your channel and watched some videos, the content is very good. But due to video optimization problems, the video is not getting viral and views, likes, and comments. Your problems need to be fixed.

heard you talk about running engines. Now propeller blades and outer wing sections. Does this mean you are going to have an operational Halifax? I so hope you do. While static displays are awesome, nothing brings a tear to the eye like the flyover of such a historic aircraft. Keep it up

My grandfather flew as a tail end charlie in the mighty Lancaster and served in bomber command for 10 years, from 1937 to 1947. The things he went through and saw made him not talking about the war for years after.

I wish he had talked about what they bought from him. I am 64, grew up in central Ohio. We had chickens, pigs. A dairy farm, a half acre garden. Mom went to the store for four and sugar and that's about it cuz she canned and froze all the fruits and vegetable (we had cherry, apple and pear trees and a rhubarb patch ). He would arrive in a big beast of a Studebaker with a trunk you could put a deep freeze in. I know she bought vanilla, tapioca, horhound, and salve and cocoa cola syrup. I do not if dad bought any livestock meds from him or at the feed mill.
