Food prices have definitely gone up in the UK. In 2018, I could shop at Aldi and get a months shop for £60. now I spend double the amount. I used to put £80 on my electric a month, which would last. Now I use £80 per week. The produce may be more expensive but the quality Is a lot better.

In the UK, if something is labeled as free ranged and its not, they can be prosecuted by UK law. There are tones of pesticides that are illegal here and can be prosecuted if used. We also don't bleach our eggs like the US does, so we can keep them out of the fridge. Almost all our milk comes from UK Farms. The green one you seen there was semi scimmed milk, the blue one is full fat. And if you see meat that has our flag on it, it means the meet came from a farm in the UK. The UK also have lots of farms, and I mean a lot 😂 😊 Love you videos

The video you're watching got the origin of "York" wrong. Its based on the word Jórvík, which over the years became York. It probably means yew tree in old Scandinavian

River Avon opens at the bristol channel in the south west of england, though the word "Avon" just means "river". So "river avon" means "river river".

At the start you talk about the church. The Church that I attend is called the Worksop Priory Church of our Lady and St Cuthbert. It is a Church of England church but traditionally Anglo Catholic. It was built in 1103 and was originally a monastery before the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry the eighth. It is one of a few churches that still has an existing Gatehouse (can in reply send link to church website). The lake district did inspire a famous book called Swallow and Amazons by Arthur Ransome. York, fairly short train journey for me, also has the National Railway Museum. Visiting the Shambles, long narrow street full of shops, is an essential experience. London… Big Ben is the bell, the tower that you see is called Elizabeth Tower. Two places that should be on my top ten list are Durham and Ripon. Both have magnificent Cathedrals that Saints are buried in, Durham is St Cuthbert and Ripon is St Wilfred. In Durham is also buried the Venerable Bede. Ripon also, nightly at 9pm, has the ancient ceremony of the setting the watch by a hornblower in the town square. Again, videos on KZfaq. This tradition dates back to the 800’s and was started by King Alfred the Great.

There is Rugby Union (which was the code you were watching in this highlight video) and Rugby League. Also in rugby for a tackle to be legal the player must "wrap" the ball carrier with both arms (they cannot just launch themselves at the ball carrier like in North American football without wrapping). At a young age rugby players are taught to tackle by making sure their head is lead on one side or the other of the ball carrier so that they are leading with the shoulder/arms for self preservation as leading with an unprotected head into the ball carrier can lead to injury. Most of the time players do not wear protective gear although you will see players sometimes wearing a thin, padded cloth "helmet" although that is worn more often by players in scrum positions to protect their ears from getting "cauliflour ears" from rubbing against the other players. Sometimes a player might wear thin shoulder pads too. Players more often than not opt out of the protective gear because helmets retain heat in the head plus block peripheral vision, and things like shoulder pads get heavy when moisture from sweat or wet field conditions damp them down.

The US navy was started by a Scot. Commodore John Paul Jones is considered the Father of the U.S. Navy, but he was born the son of a humble gardener on the large Scottish estate of Arbigland, in southern Dumfries & Galloway

I was born in the nineties and I’ve got a mixed accent, I wonder if maybe for the younger generations there is an influence from the media or if my accent has changed slightly as I’ve moved around the country. As far as I remember it’s always been the same. RP with Yorkshire undertones and also Southern undertones. So for the common Brit they just assume I sound midlands, don’t know how that logic works really 😆 if you listen closely though different words are just distinctly belonging to a different region. I pronounce Bath the northern way, but water sometimes the cockney way and other times the rp way. Really I think the inflection in northern though. My family is from Scarborough originally which is quite a soft but traditional Yorkshire accent, similar regionally to the north east coast. It shares some similarities with Northumberland/presumably due to the connection of coastal seaside towns, it again varies greatly 20 miles inland where the accent becomes thicker.

There is very little employment in North Yorkshire and the pay for most would be minimum wage ( a little under £12 per hour). On the other hand Sandbanks in Poole Dorset on the south coast also has mostly minimum wage employment and not much of it but the house prices in Sandbanks is always in the top 3 MOST EXPENSIVE AREAS IN THE WORLD... YES IN THE WORLD!!🙄
