No Tripod space 😢😢😢😢
@TenbaBags6 күн бұрын
We do have other bags that have that much-needed tripod space! Our Axis backpacks, Solstice backpacks, and Fulton backpacks have dedicated tripod space 🙏
@TenbaBags5 күн бұрын
Just a note of clarification. We used to have tripod carry straps on our messenger bags. The carry experience was not great. Put the tripod on the bottom and you can't put the bag down with stability. Put it on the front and the weight balance is all off. Put it on top and you can't get to the camera. So we eliminated it. What users do is slide two legs under the flap and leave one leg outside. That can work for quick carry needs.

Hi Tenba! Can the devider between the camera compartment and the everyday carry compartment be opened/removed? Essentially ending up with one big "regular" backpack. Also asking, because I want more space of the 16L over the 16L but I don't need more camera space but more "everyday" space. Edit, also using the cubes for easy take in/out would be great, this way this bag functions perfectly for everyday stuff and put the cubes in for photo weekends/travel Edit2: just saw you answer this in a differetn comment, answer is Yes. thank you!

What’s the point of the MOLLE webbing? Why does anyone want to put accessories outside the bag at the risk of losing them? What’s the point of making a camera backpack look tactical? Tenba makes comfortable bags but the design is missing the target.
@TenbaBags26 күн бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. Regarding the accessibility of accessories on the outside, this has been enormously popular with users. You don't need to keep them there permanently. It takes two seconds to attach batteries or cards to the outside of the pack to keep them close at hand during a shoot, and two seconds to put them back in the bag for safer storage later on. Regarding the tactical style, we can only say that we do not choose the style trends. The tactical style has proven to be the most popular in every country where we distribute bags. That includes all of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as well as North and South America. Admittedly, this was a surprise to us as well. At some point, most of the world decided that it wanted MOLLE.

@TenbaBagsАй бұрын
Just for clarification, we have four other similarly sized Axis packs from 16L all the way to 32L that have rear access. The point of these particular 18L and 20L LT models was to offer a variation on the Axis design, which in this case is a full-height side access. Most packs with off-the-shoulder side access only allow you to reach a portion of the gear in the pack. These LT packs allow you to reach 90-100% of the interior (depending on how you set them up) without ever removing the bag from your body. That is entirely different than most camera bags of this size. Hope that helps.

How is this bag compared to the Nomatic Peter Mckenon?
@TenbaBagsАй бұрын
There are sort of two parts to the answer: what customers tell us, and what we know is different from the design side. What customers tell us every week is that the Tenba bag is more comfortable to carry. We hear from lots of users who own both bags, and that's consistently the feedback we receive. On the design side, the biggest difference is that the Tenba bag will hold more gear in a similar sized pack, and that has everything to do with modular vs. non-modular. If we were comparing a Tenba bag to Tenba's sister brand, Shimoda, it would be the same. When a pack is modular, there's just a loss of space in little amounts all over that add up to big amount in the end. A quarter of an inch here and there adds up to 2-3 inches in the end. A Tenba Axis pack is wall-to-wall gear, and the result is easily 10-15% more gear will fit compared to a modular bag.

Yes, the Cooper series was more lightly padded as part of its design since we wanted the canvas bag to have a more body-hugging casual feel. We can't get that kind of easy, urban style with a lot of rigid padding. The DNA bag is more of an "every day, every condition" professional workhorse, so it has more structure.

None of the Fulton packs are designed to fit a lens as long as the Sony 200-600mm since they all have a daypack section up top for non photo gear like a jacket and food. To fit a lens as large as the Sony 200-600mm, you could look at the Axis v2 16L, which has rear access like the Fulton pack. It's an amazing low-profile pack that fits everywhere, and it has top access to the camera and long lens as well. The Axis 16L is too skinny for a laptop, but it fits a tablet. If you need laptop storage, then you could look at the Axis v2 20L or 24L, both would fit a laptop (14" and 16" respectively), and they can fit the Sony 200-600 through either the rear or top access.

But besides wearing it on a belt, I should be able to wear it on my chest (with straps), and I should be able to attach 2 lens pouches (one on each side). This does not seem to fit the bill. @TenbaBags4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. We'll definitely pass along to our design team. Two things about the tripod storage. First, a tripod will store very quickly in the side pocket. It is reinforced to fit one. Second, two tripod legs will slide easily behind the front straps, leaving one leg out front. When all three legs are dropped into the extendable tripod cup that comes out of the bottom of the pack, it will hold very securely. And this doesn't require adjusting the front straps at all. This is the quickest way to add a tripod to the front.

Anyone who is debating on upgrading from v1 to v2 axis or having a bigger laptop be warned: by moving the laptop slot, it's not well communicated, but the laptop holder got smaller. While the V1 24L backpack easily fits my 16 inch powerhouse laptop (whis is considered slim among high performance or gaming laptops), the 32L V2 is a very tight fit, and the 24L V2 is a no go. I ended up getting 0 day used V1's for this particular reason, if you got bigger than MBP16 sized laptops, get the old ones. Don't know why the reduction in size of the laptop slot and only focusing on the fitment of the macbooks. (Ok I read the comment on the move below but the real estate got still smaller which is a shame) Nonetheless apart from these baffling things these are really well made bags, I can only recommend them
@TenbaBags4 ай бұрын
Yes, large laptops are always a challenge. If we make a bag to fit larger laptops, the bag is larger, and then it's quite literally a different size. Moving the laptop sleeve to the front greatly improved the usability, the ease of access, the ability to organize the camera compartment, and the speed of removing the laptop at the airport. So it had to be done.

HI Tenba, I just wanted to give my feedback regarding this since I love your Axis V2 24L backpack, however this is a miss for me. It all comes down to the strap. I received my copy from BH Photo and tried using it for two weeks across four different photoshoots and I hated interacting with the strap. It really boils down to the "memory foam" being non-moveable and only really works for those that sling over their left shoulder is a pretty big design oversight. A removable pad and strap that allows it to be oriented the other way and carried across the right shoulder with the memory foam on it would have been such a welcome option. It would also allow me to wear the sling on my chest more comfortably for a longer period since I walk a fair distance with a backpack on my back, it would have been great to have be able to move the strap and pad in a way that allowed a wider degree of customisation. As such, when I carry my sling on the front of my body, the non moveable foam just digs into my armpit of the opposite arm and even cuts of circulation. I really hope a V3 can be put out that has a removable strap- allowing the user to decide which shoulder they want the padding on or even adding extra utility to where the sling can be used as an insert in other camera bags. I also hope that a more standard moveable pad is used instead that way I can make changes to where the padding sits if I am carrying extra gear or carrying the sling in a forward orientation or even wearing more or less layers of clothing. Really wanted to love this but unfortunately have gone back to my Wandrd Roam for the meantime and have sold this on a local marketplace at a loss since BH Photo won't accept a return for this. I really like you gear and you guys seem like the type of company that values feedback so I thought I would share.

I’ve got the older DNA 11 bag in forest green, I was out with it last night in London in the pouring rain, I used the rain cover and unfortunately it didn’t quite do the job. The area where the cover doesn’t cover bag, the back, got very damp as did some of kit inside. It’s drying out as write this, I’m not a pro photographer so the bag doesn’t get a lot of heavy use, but the stitching on some of the internal pockets is coming away and the material for internal padding, where the Velcro attaches is loosing its ability to grip. I’ve had the bag for a few years now and it mostly sits in my room to store my gear. Outwardly it’s fine and I like that it’s not too big or shouts camera bag, I like the quick access too but the fast clips are annoying, as they tend to get knocked off, I’m not sure you they’re really necessary? These new bags look like a n improvement but I’m not sure about how waterproof they would be if Tenba are still using the same rain cover method?

The Axis packs have 3 points of camera access (more zippers, more panels, more material), and are more robust, durable and water-repellent than Solstice.
