No, to have a fully working cylinder, you need to have one tank, one pump, one switch, and 4 hoses, but don't buy 4 different hoses, just buy one or two, and cut them into four pieces.

Yes, you can cut the hose, and you need two hoses for each cylinder, we have a video up showing how to do it.
