Not that any survivors probably saw it, but worth noting the Nazis made a Titanic movie. I own it on DVD and it’s worth a watch for various reasons.

The reimagining of the France to Norway was not a mistake. The Norway was dated and in disrepair. The refit to the magnificent Norway was breathtaking at the time. It was epic and helped kickoff the Caribbean cruise industry to what it is today. I lived in Miami Beach and everyone loved the Norway. It was beautiful inside and out and for the time it was advanced.

Very interesting and amusing. The quotation (rather than saying) “The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there,” is from the opening of the novel The Go-Between by LP Hartley.

Due to the fire, coal was moved to one side of the ship and made it list some degrees to that side when it departured. Fire was still active on iceberg collision. Iron rivets made the rest.

Science needs to come up with a stronger material that won't break under pressure. Kind of like that stuff they build star ships with in Star Trek and Star Wars. That stuff is indestructible. That, I can tell you!

Scharnhorst is not a battleship, chaps, but a battlecruiser. And the hymn at the end is not necessary - the ship had killed many innocent British seamen - her sailors were anything but innocent, being in the service of the worst of dictatorship - never forget that. It is certainly not a 'sad' story.. ever..

How do you feel about the titanic being a diffrent ship? For the insurance fraud because I forgot the issue. Some sort of damage that wasn’t covered or denied repair

My Grandfather ( my Dads,Dad ) crossed the Atlantic on this ship, in 1906 (I think), as he immigrated to the USA. He worked his butt off, finally was able to bring his fiancée over, years later. They both worked hard, had three children, and slowly “achieved” the American dream. Their two boys joined the US Navy, after Pearl Harbor, and defended their country in the South Pacific. Thankfully they both returned. They then had a total of 9 kids, ( my generation ), who later produced 16 offspring. Most of those kids and grand kids, are married, educated, and gainfully employed. One man immigrating on this infamous ship, and later his betrothed, once again proving that the American dream is alive and well. So sad that this ship got torpedoed. Thank you for this video!

If titanic never sank many more ships would have been lost before the people realized the dangers of not having full height water tight compartments. Because she was a popular ship her sining really brought many changes in the shipping industry that have saved countless lives.

@OceanlinerDesigns Another Australian ship that you forgot to mention is the HMAS Diamantina which had a long service record with serving in WW2 (not for long) and as well as taking part in a lot of ocean cartography with even discovering the deepest part of the Indian ocean. She did this until 1980 where she is now permanently drydocked in Brisbane as a museum with I believe all of her guns still mounted on her.
