I love how dry and humorous Jack Nicholson is in the opening!! That was so like him! No wonder he ended up playing The Joker!

This was a stunning doc. I think it’s amazing how so many people/feminists have cut up what Shelley said about Kubrick to only show the bad when in this she says how much she respected him and that is was necessary etc….me too doesn’t want anyone to see that part.

Much has been made of the Shelley Duvall/Stanley Kubrick working relationship. I suspect a lot of it had to do with the fact that Shelley had very little experience working with any director other than Robert Altman. Altman gave his actors incredible freedom not only in how they said lines but also the freedom to improvise, write some of the dialogue themselves, etc. He viewed it as a fully collaborative thing. Kubrick seems to have been the complete opposite. A total control freak who did told the actors exactly what to say, how to say it, where to move their heads, etc. If the script was revised, he and only he was the one to do it. I wonder if it was just culture shock for Shelley. Nicholson at that point had a lot more experience working with many different directors, Rafelson, Ashby, Nichols, Polanski,, Forman, Penn. So he was probably in much better position to adjust to Kubrick's insane perfectionism and control.

Idk why but i read an article on Jack Nicholson and man he was not a nice human being , linked with Hugh Hefner and I couldn’t see a difference between him And his character in the shining I find it unsettling also lot of sets design looked like Hugh Hefner office

American Pie turns 25! Made $102.5 million domestically and $235.4 million worldwide They're even talking about rebooting it Who knew it would create a $1 billion franchise? Director Paul Weitz juggles a tremendous cast The film is littered with terrific songs and lots of funny iconic scenes from the apple pie bit to the Internet video This and its sequels and spin-offs essentially celebrate the goofy recklessness of adolescence The genre faded out after the 1980s but this first movie reignited it because of screenwriter Herz’s own experiences in high school It’s not just the male perspective we see but also the females getting equal emotional weight and comedic bits, everyone is endearing Let’s face it: there’s absolutely no way this could’ve made today as far as a raunchy teen sex comedy goes There’s so many things about being politically correct and the #metoo movement that makes you feel uncomfortable (so much of the content is outdated and questionable) But the movie has characters audiences can resonate with leaving quite a cultural impression and jump started these actors’ careers The best bits involve Levy and Biggs as father and son sharing so many uncomfortable moments when it comes to manhood Nothing is perfect, you can’t plan everything, there shouldn’t be so much pressure when it comes to sex to the point where you just stop caring ‘American Pie’ is what it is when it comes to the genre but also never forgets the tender moments with high school teenagers learning to become adults

This is very interesting, because you get to see the actors as the characters who existed only in the novel of the same by Louis Sachar which won the Newbery Medal 25 years ago. In fact, I remembered having my dad help me make a puppet for English that represented Stanley Yelnats IV AKA Caveman back when I was a student at my former middle school.

The original concept of 29 Days Later wasn't that bad though i do prefer them going with the idea of 28 Weeks Later. What saddens me most though is the loss of the original plot. I always wanted to see 28 Days Later taking place right in the middle of everything like 5 or 10 days after the outbreak.

WHen I watched this Film at starting I was like yeah A typical horror film with a good ending but Damn The ending is soo spooky that its has a fanbase itself. James Wan is officially the most underrated director ever existed. I prefer Christopher Nolan over James wan. Both are legends but James Wan is Elite. The dialogue hits different "I am sick of people complaining about the blessings of life they have"
