I think im the complete opposite of you. I like Althea. Ronica is not 1/4 as smart as she thinks she is and this WHOLE debacle is her fault. Malta is a little brat, not sure how you like her as she has 0 redeeming qualities. Keffria is the only one that is growing on me, but again im still in the dislike phase because of how stupid she was made out to be in the first half of the book. Big fan of Brashen. He is only 24 in the book and Althea is 18

Would you consider doing a journal or section for the fan fics you read? I want to create something physical because my AO3 favs list is ridiculous but there's no rhyme or reason for it, and if I'm in the mood to reread something, its a crapshoot cuz I usually don't remember the relevant details😅 and get distracted (or am looking on the wrong site.) I am playing with repurposing a happy planner (lefty and commitment phobe, so bound journals make me anxious) but I would love your take on how you would set one up and adjust for no covers, etc.😊

Look up on how Stephen King got the idea about Pet Semetary, I will show you how dark that book really is and why he didn't want it to be published.

Once upon a time there lived Stephen King who wrote a good book. And after that he wrote five mediocre books. Then repeated the cycle. And that's the whole story.

I’m watching this in 2024! I’ve really been trying to understand this method. I want to try it but I always find it difficult. This video is the first video I am able to really comprehend and feel like I want to give it a try. Thank you for actually showing your pages and allowing me to see where you started to where you are now and your growth along the way. I like the concept but I also really like staying in a Travelers Notebook passport size - (or Chic Sparrow pocket size) which fits easily into my purse. But now you showed me ideas where/how to start. Also, love the reading log!!! I have subscribed so I will continue to watch your videos! Thanks again! God bless you!

4 years later... I think this series would have benefitted from FAR LESS Thymara/Rapskal/Tats. The love triangle got old by the end of book 2. But we also needed FAR MORE Selden/Chassim/Duke/Ellik! They should have been introduced way earlier than book 4 (end of book 3? Idk)

IMO The Stand is King's magnum opus, even better than It. Other early works deserving of mention include Salem's Lot, The Shining, The Dead Zone, and Night Shift (probably his best short story collection).

just finished Words of Radiance Spoilers - - - - - - - - - - - - - Firstly, enjoyed it a lot more than Way of Kings Second half of the book was a real page turner couldn’t get enough Some thoughts 1. Right when that ship sank I kinda figured Jasnah wasn’t really dead, Shallan and everyone thought so but I knew Brandon wasn’t just gonna Boba Fett Jasnah like that 2. Wow, I wasn’t a big fan of Shallan in the first book, but character really grew and has some great moments in this book, interesting back story. Both her parents still shitty. Want to see the full extent of her powers in the books to come. 3 Kaladin seems to be everyone’s favourite but he was a bit of a whiny asshole in this book, like come on dude you’re a Jedi knights radiant now why you gotta be so coy and unwilling, even Syl got tired of your whiny ass. Still had some absolute badass moments though, when he saves Dalinar and the king in the palace from Szeth, and when he kicked szeth ass at the end pretty badass. 4. Dalinar by far still my favourite character in this series, just a cool dad trying to do what’s right for his kingdom, felt like he was hardly in this book compared to Kal and Shallan. 5. I wanted szeth to kill more kings, I thought he was gonna start just randomly kill people after he fought kaladin but I guess not. Want to know more about his background. 6. Adolin murdering Sadeas nice … nice haha I thought Sadeas was kinda cool sly villain but didn’t expect Adolin to just straight up kill Sadeas

I was rooting for Starling only after Hap started to go back to Sanja. Bc I thought she’d help him with that but it turns out she helped him in a much better and bigger way. I hope she’s gone from the books now though. Ugh. What a mean selfish ass she is.

I just finished this 10 min ago. I’m beyond happy. I absolutely loved this trilogy so much. By the time I got to fools errand I was surprised by how quickly I fell in love with it. Fools Errand is my favorite book of the whole series. This trilogy is by far the best of the first 3 trilogies. I’m stoked to start Rain Wild quad. ✌🏻❤️

Rapskal gives me such big autistic vibes. A lot of his issues seem to come from not understanding social cues (e.g. when Alise and Thymara were hinting at him to go away when he was having beef with Sintara) and at one point Thymara after she gets to know him a bit better says "he's not a half-wit, he just comes at life from a different angle" which is very reminiscent of the "wired differently" view of autism that the majority of advocates in our world use. Also, the way those map towers definitely either are skill pillars or have skill pillars in them. The maps had symbols on that it said corresponded with symbols on something else in the tower and Alise literally says that the scrolls implied they could use the map towers to traverse large distances quickly but she wasn't sure how

Hello! Thank you for showing planning evolving through time. My questions are: when you write ahead of time an intention or a full day, what if nothing goes as expected? Also do you look at the day planned, as the day goes? I'm a list maker and I need to understand the transition from cto do list" to "script" : does it work? Do you miss deadlines or tasks? Which is more satisfying? Any help would be appreciated!

Typing before watching, just finished the 3rd book and... I dunno. Cliche and boring maybe... when I had 100 pages left, I was excited. The more questions they "answered" just seemed lame to me. I just really hate the whole "oh I'm fucked and I'm gonna die... but wait this magic ability that was never mentioned has saved me! But after I was saved it went away again". The Mists, yes they sort of explain it later but is Preservations conciousness gone or not? Sanderson says it is but then it uses the mist to contact Elend. Essentially "Somehow palpatine is back". Okay thats fine but give ANY explaination. Also once ruin gets his body back (atium)... thats it, the world is dead. Well why? Because it gives im power? Why does him not having his body weaken him so much. Maybe I've read too much fantasy and watched too much tv for 30 years. Just feel like the "answers" were kind of grade school explainations.

He's written more than 50 books -- so 14 kinda isn't a good sampling. While it shows you some of his writing, his stories and tones can be radically different, it's less then a 5th of his writing. And most of the books you read are in his later years, and not his bangers so, i dunno, keep reading. :) Read deadzone next (audio book is good too), and if you like fantasy read The Dark Tower series, but maybe skip the gunslinger, and just read a summary of it, since he wrote it when he was 19. Start with The drawing of the three.

Billy Summers surprised me, not just because it was a great story, but how he chose to write it. Using the third person present and solely focusing every scene through Billy's point of view, is an interesting choice.

I've been reading King since 1990. I just watched the It miniseries, and decided to read a book of his. Loved him since. But, it rubs me the wrong way when people say that the "older" works are better than the "newer" works. Not true. He has some great older works, and he has some great newer works. He has great works in the middle as well. He also has crappers that are old and new as well. His older works tend to have the better horror elements, that is true, and some better plots, but the newer works tend to have stronger character development and more emotional resonance. 11/22/63 is my favorite King book, hell favorite book, overall. It is also heartbreaking. But, there will always be the people who always say "the original is better" or "the first is better" or "the older ones are better", in regards to any series, albeit books, movies, tv shows, video games, etc. It is completely subjective, although many humans tend to just parrot and absorb opinions of others as well, thus removing some of the subjectivity from said beliefs. My advice, for anyone that wants to read King, is to check the bias at the door. Read the older, middle, and newer eras of his work. I guarantee you will find books you love in all three and books you don't care much for in all three. Are there more good books in the older days? Yes, but only because more were published in those days :). Law of averages and all....

Wow everytime I see a Stephen King ranking video I'm super surprised on how different each book resonates with each reader!! It's so common for the top ten books of one person to be the last ten for another person 😅 how ??? It's so fascinating!! All the books you rated 4 stars for example were totally bottom on another video I just watched 🤣 I haven't read a lot yet myself, only 4-5 I think, and my unpopular opinion is the Tommyknockers for example ! I love this book... So now I just pick SK books based on how the plot intrigues me and not based on people's favorites cause they are really so diverse haha!! ❤

I really thought 11 22 63 was going to be your top one since it is for most people who are just getting into Stephen King. HELLL I cant explain the shock and pure happiness I felt. It's soooooo damn hard to see anyone having IT as a top book from him. I'm actually just starting to read books This book is my first. So Ig that could be why I consider this book very special. But I SWEAR TO GOD I bawled my eyes out with this. I think that's so strange bcz I have never heard a single one cry over a book like IT. it was bills and Georgie's relation that I loveeeeee and care soon much about and the most so far in this book. (I have only reached the first interlude, and I'll continue it after my finals which is after march) the first chapter is FULLL of tabs in my book, I can definitely say the the first chapter is my most favorite one so far but I don't think it'll change. It contained soon much(BILL AND GEORGIE'S MOMENTS, GEORGIE'S POV THT I ENJOYED SOO MUCH, GEORGIE'S DIEEEDDDDD NOOOOOO) all the character intro did bore me a little Ig (stans was good and intense) but I was anticipating bills ch cuz I wanted to know what happened to bill and how he overcame the grief. Every single time Georgie was mentioned I mentally screamed that I would cry but that was obviously a joke. But then this line""bill shook his head slowly 'I could tell you that, but it would be a lie. I loved him. I know how strange that might sound after telling you I haven't thought of him in 20 yrs or so, but I loved the hell out that kid.' he smiled a little. 'he was a spasmoid, but I loved him. You know?' "" This was my last staw and crieeedd. I'm sooo glad that you love this book for it's quote and beauty!!!!!! I'm sorry Ig, I just wrote an entire paragraph, but literally I have been waiting for Atleast someone to mention this books beauty
