Can't do much anymore period but I never could do blunt fs 180, I was able to do bs 180 out, good enough to occasionally blunt to back tail on a ramk with decent coping. Still have goals to get my own mini ramp some day

My method for getting carve grinds dialed is to keep both feet on top of the bolts at both ends of the board, apply pressure to the heel-side(frontside) or toe side(backside), and allow your head to follow the lead shoulder. This is an efficient method for me, at least, because I don't have to throw my upper body and hips to get through the grinds. Just keep your hips, knees, and ankles slightly firm/bent while keeping upper your upper body loose so you can retain your speed once you get out of the carve grind

Would take the Hoppa Bus there from Truro [After drooling over stuff in ESSJAYS skate shop] as a mid 80's kid, it was "All we had back then" [As Kids] but in our minds it was like something from a Bones Brigade Video

I'm a 61 year old oldfart. Started skating in the first UK wave around '76/'77. The THRILL of getting 3 out on a frontside turn for the first time on vert is a feeling hard to replicate. These days I stick to longboarding mostly but still can enjoy some gentle bowls/ramps.

Don't let 8.7" wide confuss you. Its 8.5" at the trucks. I just got Indie Hollows 144mm trucks and Powell's Andy's 52mm Nano Cubic wheels that bring it all out to the edge at the truck mounts. Sweet. Or..Powell Mini Logo Trucks 8.38" and again Powell's Andy's Nano Cubics wheels. If you gonna run Powell's Christopher Hiett's Nano Rats wheels then you gonna want a little wider truck. Good luck this info is hard won!

Hi, what an impressive progression over these years ! Had you already skated ramps before (like you had other coping trick and only left rock to fakie) or is everything you've learned since 2019 new ?
@JonBishopSkate6 күн бұрын
Yeah dude, first drop in at 44, I had surfed, windsurfed etc for 25 years prior, I used a longboard for transport for a couple of years in the 2000s, but started transition skating on a standard board from scratch?!

Regression into your inner rascal. I love it. I'm having the time of my life doing wizard inline skating (after being a skateboarder for many years in my youth). Nice Andy Anderson board and old wheels, I know I've seen those in the 90s, are those roaches?

YES JON! Love the pivot into street skating! I'm a mere wipper snapper at the age of 40, and felt like I had kind of plateaued with my transition skating. I decided to learn some street and I've had so much fun. Think this will be a brilliant watch if you channel the determination you've had wth you transition skating into street skating. Street doesn't have to be gnarly either - boardslides, no complys, slappys are your friend :)
