FUN FACT: Most of the cars in Death Race 2000 are actually Volkswagen Beetles with Fiberglass body kits. There was a TON of different body kits for the bug back in the 60s and 70s (also where the Dune Buggy comes from), and was cheaper than buying a real corvette, they also sped up the footage while driving to help the audience forget that they're not really that fast.
@JohnnySix
@JohnnySix 5 күн бұрын
Wow, didn't know that they were mostly beetle body kits! Very cool. The sped up footage thing was used a lot back in the day, especially in TV where the budget wouldn't permit such risky stunts. Like the original Batman :D

@JohnnySix another fact I didn't know till later: Both Frankensteins and Machine Gun Joes cars were given an engine swap, since they were the cars of the main characters they got Chevy Corvair engines, so that they could have faster scenes.

I've been getting into blender this past couple of weeks. Planning to do my first 3D game in godot for the next Ludum Dare. It'll be interesting to see where I come in four years now haha!
@JohnnySix

Very cool, I've not tried godot yet. I'd recommend making a bunch of quick games first, I tried doing unity last LD and it set me back a bit as it was a big leap from Construct 2 :D .

@@JohnnySix I've made a few games in godot at this point but they've been 2D and I'm doing a bunch of little practice projects to get used to the 3D workflow. I would definitely recommend giving Godot a try. For me it has everything I need in features without all the extra complexity Unity and Unreal have that allows them to make the triple A games.

The definition of medical illness is funny, and it DOES diverge from the biological terminology. It is NOT a biological disease to not be interested in something you dont care about. But its a medical disorder of it causes you harm- lose your job, go to jail, etc. Using Adderall to stimulate productivity is a treatment to the harm caused by diverging from social expectations. Psychology and sociology are more intertwined then we are comfortable to admit. Robert Sapolsky has been among the most progressove lecturers on this front. Currently, I have seen it to be a clash of deeply rooted traditions. The old school liberals championing agency with scientific determinists telling it like it is. If you are predisposed to have an overexagerrated organ of aggression in the brain, you are nore likely to be a criminal. Thats just it For medical professionals, we default to the original axioms of the field - of it causes harm to a patient, its a disease. If you dont fit in, its a disease. Alot of what people dont tell you is many drugs require the assistance of a trained psychologist or psychiatrist. To thos day, many general practioners can prescribe schedule II meds wirh no oversight due to cost constraints. I stand as a neutral curious observer on the sidelines who has has to teach on this subject matter. There is legal traditions of agency against medical science traditions of treatment against biological fraditions of fact. And then there is the law, which has the achilles heel of absolute liberalism and agency on judging individuals😮

What a spooky coincidence! :D Thanks for listening - 20 or so years ago it was pretty much what I lived off , along with coffee and cigarettes , working at a local music venue. I'll have to look up Mephiskapheles. Sounds like one of the bands that would've played that venue back in the day - a lot of Ska / Ska-Punk back then, my favourites were Suicidal Tendencies and King Prawn
