I mean, ok, a 60 year old can win a 'world championship' title against other 60 year olds. Of course he can. It's not like he competed in the open division and won, he fought other people his age and weight. This is like interviewing the champion of a regional middle-school grappling tournament and expecting to learn something. Like yeah he won because he fought some other old men and was slightly better than them. It's not impressive.

I'm 73 and just started last week. Lots of past sports injuries but have experience in judo, TKD, boxing and wrestling and Krav Maga. Need to lose 25 lbs and gain some flexibility.

Wow! I’ve been a fence sitter for a few decades. Primarily because there were no places to train in my area. Then once we had training locations, I had no money. I’ve recently signed up my 7yr old and thought I was possibly too old and out of shape to train as well. This video gives me hope.

41, just started a month ago after a long break.. Cardio, and mobility need work but I'm in it for the long run. Just to stay fit and play fight on the mat.. Take your time, curb your ego, know your limits, and have fun..

BJJ not only has challenge me, but I have found myself through it. Put aside your fears, if you have the heart, then you are never too old - if you do not, then you are too old for it at any age. Transcend yourself, move past imagined limitations, and remember Hélio Gracie trained on the day he died, and he was in his 90's. Too old, not if you have the heart for it, you are not.

I started BJJ at 66 years old, under Professor Mario Yokoyama , who was awarded his black-belt by the late Ryan Gracie. I am now 69(in a few days). At my age you have no choice but to leave your ego at the door, and you have to be determined, for one does not have the strength and stamina of a man or woman in their 20's.The effort and strain, along with getting used to being sore all the time, is worth it - "if it does not challenge you, it does not change you".

I am the Moroccan Taekwondo champion in the years 1986 1987 1989 and I stopped training for 27 years. I have two sons, the big one is 13 years old and the little one is 6 years old. When I take them to the Taekwondo hall, I feel nostalgic to play the game again. I teach them how to play like champions and they are distinguished. The little one looks a lot like me, he doesn’t He is afraid to play with someone who is older than him and plays with manliness, unlike the old man. He is an artist in his game, but he is very afraid. This is what prompts me to return to practice Taekwondo in order to stand by my children
