everything they were discussing about what apple mutes and kaleidescape does not mute people dont go to the movies to hear every distinct sound their reasons and biasness dont justify the ridiculous price for Kaleiscape.what should be muted in this video is them justifying why kaledescape is better.They not catering for the average joe.

Blu-ray player - $100 and up capable of true hd Atmos 4K AppleTV - $129 to $149 is a steaming device than can deliver Atmos albeit it is compressed (most people wouldn’t even notice. Kaleidescape - not a streaming device, but an overpriced storage device with access to the lossless downloads. Approximately $10,000 or more for complete setup. I don’t have that kind of money to throw down on a luxury item. If I did I would, hell just for bragging rights😂 If I want lossless audio I’ll just buy the Blu-ray, but I’m okay with streaming also and I can tell a difference with my system. But I can buy a hell of a lot of movies with the money saved. Not to mention I can also build a storage system and burn my disks to it for a lot less than the cost for Kaleidescape. If the price comes down to a more reasonable level I will consider it then.

I prefer disc from a quality perspective. Kscape is just as good from my vantage point. That aside, I think disc is all but dead now and steaming will prevail for many reasons. I question the long term viability of Kscape. The fought through financial troubles once prior but now there were limited options back then. Today for many, AppleTV is good enough and it will only get better in time. I also don’t want to have to buy movies again.

I know this first hand, trust me on this KZfaq with compression you cannot really distinguish much of a difference, in person between AppleTV or any streaming service and Kaleidescape there is ZERO comparison.

3:43 such moobs , mine is all JBL professional cinema THX 2nd hand and was light years cheaper , firstly home theatre isn't a luxury if anyone believes that then you are deluded like they are and yes mine also includes the real professional cinema THX and this room doesn't plus the atmos speakers , i mean speakers used for overheads , mine m my layout is far better exceeds the normal dolby spec that is way , way better anyway i seen enough here , atmos has been around for 12 years and i've not even seen mkII improvement

If you have to tell people what's different it's not enough to be worth the cost.....Also Apple TV 4k indeed does do Dolby ATMOS, might want to make sure you have it set up properly if it's not working for you.

This is a cool install. Considering the customer is financially savvy enough to use some gear they already had on hand, the upgrades over time will be interesting if you ever do updates.

Good day fellow Houstonian! Do you plan to use a DSP Mini for the subs? I'm currently entertaining the idea of picking one up and may have to run by the store to get some insight on using one.

I bought this after watching this video and I have to say, it was a disappointment. Some songs it sounded amazing but others it was just awful. Bass is incredible but vocals were muffled and the details in the mid range were weak. I ended up returning it for a Naim Mu-so 2 and IMO is far better than the RS150. However, the RS250 blows the 150 and the Mu-so out of the water, but is also out of my price range. The 150 is a great speaker but didn’t work well for the music I listen to.

I wasn't impressed either. But I once heard Estelon speakers at Audio Show in Rome Italy. They were really impressive there.

Synergistic Research makes some exceptional products. I use their SRX digital cable. I tested many and it was the best. I also have a grounding block for it.

The Crossover's are choc full of cheap parts and the cabinet construction is that particle board MDF stuff and their drivers are not using rare earth magnets or anything innovative except a transmission line to boos the low end a bit. Their more expensive speakers usa nice aluminum cabinets but still have junk ball crossover parts like sand cast resistors. It is a shame their HV level electronics are really made much better than the speakers.
