Airway clearance is futile when you don’t have mucus

Great instructional video but has a tiny flaw. In the video, the lever is clearly in the closed position when the mouthpiece cover is closed. That's confusing since when you close the cover, the lever is in the open position, and the cover also closes the lever.

I’ve been diagnosed with NTM and BE. I take 3oral antibiotics and Arikayce. Can’t do airway clearance because of bleeding. I can cough up blood on demand.

Thank you so much, Jeanne, for your presentation; I just started on a nebulized medication and you told me a couple of things that my doctor had not mentioned -- like trying to breathe the medication as deeply as possible. I wasn't told anything, basically, just given the equipment and medication at the pharmacy. Why does everyone assume that people can figure out these things without some guidance? And, yes, of course I understand that healthcare providers are over-worked but it is frustrating. Your video and attitudes you expressed helped me a lot.

Hello I hope I'm in the right place. I have a situation. 2 and ½ years ago I quit smoking due quitting smoking I have suddenly started having shortness of breath even when just sitting down my doctor put me on an inhaler but it does not seem to be helping. could my problem be due to the weight gain or the copd?

This is the worst thing I have ever tried to use. I have used Advair and Trelegy and could not get them because this current administration has decided to do as little as they can for veterans and their families. So we are stuck with this junk. It is the most awkward thing I have ever tried to use. It should be banned.

it's absolute crap. either the delivery device sucks, or the generic formulation sucks, but there's a reason it has a rating of 1.6 out of 10 or lower on every medical website out there.

I believe I had RSV and none of my doctors caught it. For a good month or more , I was coughing almost constantly day and night. My nose was constantly running. I felt drained all the time. It was rough on top of having very severe COPD. I believe years ago when we got vaccinated to go to school , they were real vaccines. People today are just not sure what's real and what's hype. I've had COVID 4 times since being vaccinated for it and 3 boosters.

About time someone cleared up this "2 ltr/min" myth. But still doctors will raise an eyebrow when you tell them that you/me (at times) adjust the flow rate above their (apparently) sacred '2 ltr/min' proclamation to maintain adequate O2 levels.

I need oxygen at night but my so called lung doctor ignores me when I tell him I’m struggling at night because he goes by the pulmonary testing
@mhessrrt
@mhessrrt 10 ай бұрын
That's got to be pretty frustrating! Have you spoken with him about a test called an "overnight oximetry study," or perhaps even a sleep study? There are a lot of things that can make you short of breath at night in addition to low oxygen levels.
@hippiegirl5167
@hippiegirl5167 9 ай бұрын
@@mhessrrtyes I had those test and he said I had sleep apnea but I don’t. I recorded myself at night and never once stopped breathing
@mhessrrt
@mhessrrt 9 ай бұрын
@@hippiegirl5167 Sometimes apnea events cannot be seen by the naked eye. There are also things called hypopneas where you don't *entirely* stop breathing altogether, but you aren't breathing deeply enough to move air effectively. Those can also cause issues. If you had an overnight sleep study that showed sleep apnea, I would STRONGLY recommend you trust those results and begin treatment as soon as possible!

I have emphysema, now from last month I have mucus which is stubborn & not going. When I take methylprednisolone, mucus reduces but once I stop taking medicine, mucus increases & then it gives shortness of breath. What to do? I am 57 years old.

This is a very informative video and I think everyone should watch it. The only issue I have - and I mean no disrespect - is that I had quite a bit of trouble understanding this gentleman in the video. Please use English speakers or those who are at least understandable. If not for the text on the screen, I would have been lost and turned it off.
