1:51 I want to know who wrote the subtitles and check their credentials. It’s not “नारी”, it’s “नाड़ी”, the nerves! Which the old doctors used to hold to get the idea of a person’s health! I mean, why would the old doctor hold your “friend’s fervour”? What good is that gonna do?
@classiccinema17895 күн бұрын
@@anujkalra6145 If you actually paid attention, you'd realize the pronunciation is 'नारी' and not 'नाड़ी'. Understanding the vernacular nuances of a language where letters can transform seems beyond your grasp. Also, translations are often liberal to convey the true meaning, not just a word-for-word rendition. And for the record, it clearly says 'soothe my friend's fervor' and 'check the girl's throb'-maybe take a closer look next time, without editing your comment 😉

Even though Padma Khanna is veiled and doesn't show her face, she is still more graceful than Sharmin, who shows her entire face. Is Sharmin really a robot?

Apparently she does look like one
@indiancinema5260Ай бұрын
In the guise of inspiration and tribute, SLB blatantly copies these iconic movies but still fails to capture their magic. This song, featuring the most wooden Sharmin, is now being claimed to be inspired by the nothingness of Meena Kumari. What's that???? Don't spout nonsense to justify poor choices.
@classiccinema1789Ай бұрын
Agreed. More than the actress, I think Bhansali is at fault. He was so adamant to take his neice, that he did not even care about her performance.

This isn't an original song, this originated in UP (read the description) and Heeramandi is a period film, they used folk and classical songs like- Sakal Ban (legit written by Amir Khusrau).
@moveoverglobe2154Ай бұрын
This folk song originated in Up especially in faziabad as this language is faizabadi, and pakeeza movie is based on Lucknow where high class at that particular time spoke urdu while the common people often spoke faizabadi as well, but what Sanjay Leela Bhansali showed in Heramandi is completely no scene as Heramandi is in Lahore so common people over there spoke punjabi instead of Faizabadi.

What a lovely edit, even Meena Kumari's out of lip-sync (as it's an edit) are perfect compared to Sharmin's stupid performance and immature lip sync

'Guiyan' refers to a female friend, similar to 'saheli' or 'sakhi'. It doesn't imply a romantic relationship like 'girlfriend.' This term is typically used by women to address their female companions. Other suggested translations like 'breath' or 'heartbeat,' are not literal meanings.The root of Taro is called 'Ghuiyan (घुइंया)' and 'bottle-gourd' is called 'Gheeya (घीया)' both have distinct pronunciation from गुइँया.

This version stands apart because of Rajkumari's tonal quality that was natural, unlike Madhubanti's nasal manipulation in the Heeramandi version. Both are beautiful, but this one stands out
@RavinderSingh-zl1xf2 ай бұрын
there is difference of tempo also. This one is Dadra and new one is Thumri.

I completely agree. Songs that are sung in natural nasal tone are really difficult to recreate. Jaise apni Shamshad Bai aur Geeta Dutt ke gaane 😀
