*Harassment of tenants by poverty wise & religion wise at CIDCO Asavari Society in Taloja Phase 2* *Introduction:* After residing in CIDCO Asavari Society for the past three years, as a tenant in Building No.E8, I feel compelled to share my experiences and provide a thorough review of the positives and negatives observed in this cidco asavari society. *Background:* Having been a resident of South Mumbai in my own home since birth, personal reasons led me to explore a new area for 2 to 3 years. After careful consideration, I chose CIDCO Asavari Society in Taloja Phase 2 for its spacious flats, affordable rental rates, extensive parking facilities, multiple gardens, and the recent addition of metro transport. *Organizational Structure:* This society comprises more than 30 buildings, each with its own secretary or president, responsible for enforcing unique rules within their respective buildings. It's noteworthy that these rules are not standardized across the entire society, as per the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960. Certainly! In our diverse world, every individual, location, and product possesses both positive and negative aspects. Upon closer inspection of the CIDCO Asavari Society, I have identified both commendable attributes and areas that could be improved. *Pointwise Reviews:* *Positive Aspects:* 1. *Ample Parking and Green Spaces:* The society boasts a vast parking area and multiple gardens, enhancing the overall living experience. 2. *Transportation:* The recent addition of metro transport has improved accessibility for residents. 3. *Weekly Bazaar:* A convenient weekly bazaar provides access to essential household products. *Negative Aspects:* 1. *Water Quality:* The water supply in CIDCO's buildings is a significant issue, with dark grey water that is unfit for consumption, necessitating the purchase of water filters or bottled water. 2. *Noise Restrictions:* Tenants are restricted from playing loud music in their rented flats. 3. *Internal Family Matters:* Rules prohibit tenants from resolving personal family issues internally. 4. *Communication Restrictions:* Tenants are unable to engage in debates with building supervisors or flat owners. 5. *Event Restrictions:* Large-scale personal or family events are not allowed within the society for tenants. 6. *Discrimination:* Instances of discrimination against Muslim families seeking to rent have been reported, which raises concerns about fairness and inclusivity. 7. *Prohibitions on Home-Based Businesses:* Residents are restricted from running small businesses from their rented homes, despite no explicit legal prohibition according to the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960. 8. *Monthly Parking Fees:* Tenants are required to pay monthly fees for parking their vehicles in the society's designated areas. 9. *Gate Key Charges:* Some buildings impose a gate key fee, creating an additional financial burden for tenants. In some buildings in this society there is a very horrible rule that tenants must buy a gate key to enter each building at 200/- rupees and 100/- rupees for flat owners. When the tenant will leave their rented flat the gate key must be given back to the supervisor then the supervisor of this building will give 100/- rupees back to the tenant and the balance 100/- rupees will be considered as a service fee for using this gate key for a rented period. 10. *The Biggest Hypocrisy of Flat Owners:* There are three gates in the society. The rule for tenants is that they must enter through the 1st and 3rd gates and exit through the 2nd gate if they entering & exiting with their vehicle. However, flat owners are allowed to enter and exit through any gate if they entering & exiting with their vehicle. This rule does not apply to flat owners. How would you describe this? This is a blatant hypocrisy on the part of flat owners. [The worst flat owner at CIDCO Asawari is Santosh Khetal.] *Conclusion for giving (-1) star review in minus>* Regrettably, the overall experience in CIDCO Asavari Society leans towards the negative for tenants. The perceived autocracy of flat owners, discriminatory practices, and stringent rules make it challenging for residents to enjoy a sense of freedom and community. As a tenant, the struggles with water quality, restricted activities, harassment by flat owners, and financial obligations have made my stay less than satisfactory. It is my hope that improvements can be made to create a more inclusive and tenant-friendly environment in the future. *In short, Flat owners think that they are VIP people and tenants are their labours.* *थोडक्यात, फ्लॅट मालकांना वाटते की ते व्हीआयपी लोक आहेत आणि भाडेकरू त्यांचे कामगार आहेत.* *संक्षेप में, फ्लैट मालिक सोचते हैं कि वे वीआईपी लोग हैं और किरायेदार उनके मजदूर हैं।* *Providing evidence to support the aforementioned claims:* 1) drive.google.com/file/d/1FgaQs7xl8hVEJTkkZebCGx_yNidPhIZy/view?usp=sharing 2) drive.google.com/file/d/1jJJ9C2daCeXlkZTVU7tDwySJ9WhqfjNg/view?usp=sharing 3) drive.google.com/file/d/1siCEqqZKsydYAZ7yQymV7VttAn_2yD5a/view?usp=sharing
