First you asked the question best places for retirement: you need sub-sections depending upon what you’re really looking for, cost, lifestyle, politics etc. I’m currently living in Sararsota Fl. Cost of living in Florida is relatively cheaper due to its low taxes for retirees. However since Covid and young people have relocated here since most can work from home. Housing cost has drastically increased in most major areas.. Besides the ass-h le GOVNER the states on this list ARE RED STATES!111. So dealing with politics is another issue. That doesn’t stop me from thinking, getting around or living my lifestyle. Play golf 3 to 4 days also we have group of BLACK GOLFERS about 40-80 guys we play every Monday , go to the beaches everyday, plenty of cultural activities here for blacks, I’m not trying to defend FLORIDA at all. Just letting you know the situation.. Frankly I’m ready for a change from Florida .. that’s why I’m on this site. From what I’ve seen and read I have to ask myself what is really best for my health and well being… Frankly I’d seriously consider Portugal but I know my wife won’t. It’s about what you’re looking for in life.

Same kinda thing happens in one’s home country seems like. People struggle with other people that appear different. One thing that might help lessen the xenophobic treatment would be to speak their language fluently. Yes, I know, who has time to learn a bunch of foreign languages. Another thing that may cause negative treatment may have something to do with strangers being perceived as enemy invaders since throughout history new people in your tribe village town city state or country often meant trouble-their intentions might be hostile if even on a subliminal level local could have such anxieties. Sure the world is like that. But have traveled a bit and tended to have way more positive experiences than negative ones. But yes, why visit some of these places anyway especially alone? What do you expect to find there? And for that matter colorism is a big deal in places where you would never expect to find it. Won’t mention names. Lastly travel is the best why I know of to waste your money!

This video makes it seem like these cities created these disparities by design. Instead of just giving side by side statistics, it may help to seek out historical data that would indicate why there are such disparities, such as disappearing industries in those areas, the type of leadership (i.e., demographics on the politicians who control those areas), and any kind of urban renewal programs that may have been tried and failed. I would suggest you read "Discrimination and Disparities" by Thomas Sowell to learn more on this. Note: I do not receive any remuneration for suggesting this book.
