I've only jusat discovered this channel but I hope to learn very much from it! I've been trying to befriend the local cygnets and swans near me by feeding them dry dog food and nut mix, as well as frozen peas if they float in the water long enough. I've heard every swan has a slightly different bill and "horn" on their head if you get to know them, do you think that is true? thank you either way for your amazing videos!

Welcome 🙏 Yes the mute swans 🦢 all have very unique individual differences. Depending on the swan depends what their favourite food is. It’s good to try all you have researched & see for yourself. The trust comes from positive intentions, food & frequency of time with them. Hope this helps 🤩

Hello. I just saw my swans and Anglesey pair failed again for cygnets due to them picking the same spot each year for nesting and the tide impacted it sadly once again. Hopefully next year more luck. I just witnessed Anglesey cob annoying Dylan and Ellie. Just uploading the video now to KZfaq of the drama I got. Hope your well with your swans. ❤❤

They are dedicating his soul to the care of the mute Swan. Happy news. Our local pair, who for a time seemed to have a failed clutch of eggs are now parents. As of 1st of June I am godfather to a not so small bundle of grey fluffiness. In honour of our dedicated guardian of the swans, the first born I give the name of "Whisper". The swan male is standing astride the nest as a shelter which suggests more hatchlings on the way!!!

Think it’s just the ones on the Thames river, the royals have a company that looks after them.. all others 🦢 are supposedly protected but from experience there is no special treatment. 🙏

Any unbanded mute swan in open water within England is considered Crown property from a legal perspective. This dates back to the medieval era when swans were considered a source of food for wealthy people. However in the modern era it seems the only area of Thames river actively enforces this law, albeit in a largely ceremonial sense. His Majesty's Warden of the Swan coordinates and manages an anural census of all the swans on the Thames. Weighing them, checking their general health and then re-releasing them otherwise unharmed. The monarch's barge is often accompanied by two boats from two of London's "Livery Companies." The "Worshipful companies of Vinters and Dyers" help the warden's party coral and examine the swans. 🤣 met him three times now he’s been here a week. Even when sat feeding the others he’ll come over for food & start hissing 😂 Think wherever he’s come from he’s had bad experiences with humans. Will give compassion & try to calm him over time if he stays..

Any advice for treating a depressed Swan. I think owing to time of laying my local female swan is feeling grief. I'm sensing more than 38 days has elapsed and she was definitely emoting some kind of sadness to me. Any Swan support counseling available or advice what can I do to cheer up a Swan. Swan hugs are not an option from the riverside.

What a small world!! i believe i saw this exact goose family in castlefield, manchester yesterday evening, on the day of upload. i was hunting for some goslings to photograph and found these geese and the goslings were fighting over a banana skin lol. i was on the other side of that bridge in front of the brick building with the tower (which is why i think i saw this lot :) )
